All-Star Snub Once Again

For the second year in a row Los Angles Clippers Center Deandre Jordan has been snubbed from the Western Conference All-Star team. It was already shocking when he didn't get selected by the coaches to make the All-Star team. But, it was even more shocking when last night Anthony Davis pulled out of the All-Star game because of a shoulder injury. So anybody with some common sense would think Deandre Jordan would be the right candidate to take his place since he is also an big man that plays defense and rebounds just as well as Anthony Davis. Especially when Deandre just had another 20-20 game again last night. Deandre leads the league in rebounds with 13.8 a game and also leads the league in field goal shooting percentage with 72%. Deandre Jordan is second in the NBA in blocks averaging 2.35. Deandre also averages 10.7 points per game. But instead they chose old aged Dirk Nowitzki.

Don't get me wrong Dirk Nowitzki is a great player and probably a first ballot Hall of Famer but it's time for the younger athletes to get some shine. You know the term out with the old in with the new. I know I'm not the only one tired of seeing Dirk shooting that fade away kick backed jump shot. In the All-Star game people watch it to see killer crossovers and alley oops dunks. Dirk doesn't have a killer crossover and rarely dunks the ball especially at his old age. Deandre Jordan however does catch a lot of alley oop dunks or just downright dunks on people in general.

In my eyes Deandre Jordan would of been the right player to take Anthony Davis spot on the All-Star team. But it seems to me Adam Silver was showing favoritism to the veteran Dirk Nowitzki. An All-Star game is mainly for the fans to see all their favorite players on one court playing on the same team or against each other. For most of the game their players are playing little to no defense until the 4th quarter. If Deandre Jordan was in this game he would of caught many alley oops from his Clippers teammate Chris Paul.
