Philadelphia 76ers Could Get Another 1st Round Pick

Before the NBA Draft lottery the 76ers had a chance to have 4 first round picks in the 2015 draft. Sadly they only finished with 1 first round pick which is there own with the number 3 pick in this year's draft. The 76ers had the Lakers pick which was top 5 protected which they didn't get because the Lakers have the number 2 pick in this year's draft. The third 1st pick they could have got for this year's draft was the Miami Heat which was top 10 protected sadly the Heat have the 10th pick in this year's draft. The fourth first round pick the 76ers had a chance to get was the Oklahoma City Thunder pick which was top 19 protected unfortunately the 76ers didn't get that pick either due to injury of Kevin Durant the Thunder didn't make the playoffs and have the number 14 pick in this year's draft.

But rumors are going around that the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trailblazers are in trade talks involving draft picks. As you know the Blazers are in the process of trying to resign LaMarcus Aldridge to a max deal so saving as much money possible would be the smart thing to do. So the Trailblazers are considering trading their 1st round 23rd pick to the 76ers for the 76ers two second round picks 35 & 37.  This deal would smart for both teams. This deal would be smart for the 76ers because they need all the talent they can get 76ers fans are getting restless and tired of watching a tanking team. This would be a smart move for the Trailblazers because the contracts for players in the second round are much cheaper then getting a player in the first round. However this trade can't happen until the draft starts since the Trailblazers traded their 2016 first round pick that is lottery protected to the Denver Nuggets. Hopefully this trade happens.

Golden State Wins NBA Finals

Last night the Golden State Warriors was able to rap up the NBA Finals and win their first NBA Championship in 40 years. The final score was 105-97 Golden State way. Golden State beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4 to 2 in NBA Finals. The Warriors not only dominated the NBA in the regular season but also in the postseason as well. The Golden State Warriors record combined between with the regular season & postseason was 83-20 which is phenomenal.

The loss of Kevin Love & Kyrie Irving started show in the NBA Finals but LeBron still kept the Cavs in at least contention of challenging the Warriors for a championship. But, in game 5 that lineup change by Steve Kerr really sealed the deal for the Warriors to win a championship. The Warriors lineup gave the Cavaliers trouble in game 5 and game 6. Andre Igoudala  was the key to the Warriors beating the Cavaliers in the finals he slowed down LeBron when he was guarding him and scored on the offense end as well. Andre Igoudala won the NBA Finals MVP which he certainly deserved.

Last night Steph Curry played a phenomenal game he had 25 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Andre Igoudala played a great game he had 25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Draymond Green had a triple double in the closeout game finishing with 16  points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Festus Ezeli had 10 points, and 4 rebounds off the bench. Shaun Livingston had 10 points, and 3 rebounds.

Golden State Warriors One Win from An NBA Championship

Last night the Warriors stuck with their small lineup and it worked well once again. The Warriors small lineup continued to give the Cavaliers team problems. The small lineup gave the Cavs team so much problems that 7'1Timofey Mosgov only played 9 minutes. The previous game Mosgov had a career high game having 28 points and 10 rebounds. So David Blatt decision to sit Mosgov in yesterday's game was very questionable.

With the Warriors going small this has really helped them stretch the floor and have a more uptempo offense. Steph Curry had an MVP like performance in last night game scoring 15 points in the 4th quarter. Steph Curry finished with 37 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Curry finally found away to get around Dellavedova good defense. Andre Iguodala had another good start for the Warriors he finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Leandro Barbosa had another good game off the bench for the Warriors finishing with 13 points, and 2 rebounds. Draymond Green played another solid game he had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Klay Thompson finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

LeBron James finished with 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. But, that still wasn't enough for the Cavs to win. Tristan Thompson had 19 points and 10 rebounds. JR Smith finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Iman Shumpert had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. The final score was 104-91 in favor of the Golden State Warriors. Now the Cavs go back to Cleveland facing elimination game tomorrow night.

Golden State Routs Cavs in Game 4 to Even the Series

With the Warriors going into game 4 down 2-1 people were curious to see if the Warriors will finally play with a sense of urgency. Well last night those questions were answered Steve Kerr made a smart lineup change by going small in the starting lineup. Others were questioning Golden State urgency to win in the NBA finals. People have been saying the Cavs have been playing like their desperate while the Warriors have been playing like they have nothing to lose. Last night tables turned Warriors were the one playing like they were desperate for a change.

Steph Curry was finally able to get out of his shooting woes. Curry scored 22 points shooting 8 for 17 from the field.  Steph Curry was also able to make 4 3pt shots out of 7. Chef Curry is back and that could be a bad thing for the Cavaliers. If both splash brothers Steph Curry & Klay Thompson play well in the same game this series is over for the Cavs.

Draymond Green really stepped up yesterday for the Warriors he had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. He is the heart and sole of the Warriors team everyone on that team feeds off his energy. Another player that stepped up was Andre Iguodala who had 22 points, and 8 rebounds this game was the first time he started this season. Harrison Barnes finally stepped up and got 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and an assist. David Lee even got 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists off the bench. Hopefully the Warriors start off small again because it worked perfectly in game 4.

LeBron Leads Cavs to 2-1 Lead in NBA Finals

LeBron leads the Cavs again to another win in the NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers are now two wins from being NBA champions. LeBron got basically any shot he wanted against the Warriors yesterday. He was playing like a man on a mission. LeBron finished with 40 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

This is the third straight game in the NBA Finals that LeBron scored 40+ points in the NBA Finals. Without Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving LeBron has still been able to lead this depleted Cavs team to victory. But LeBron has got some help from his role players especially from Matthew Dellavedova, JR Smith, Timofev Mosgov, and Tristan Thompson. Matthew Dellavedova surprisingly scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists last night. Dellavedova has been stepping up for the Cavs tremendously and has been able to slow down MVP Steph Curry with his physical defense.

LeBron becomes the all-time leading scorer through the first 3 games in the NBA Finals with 123. I feel like with the loss of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love he was able to play his game more and just be able to shoot at will. With Love and Irving he would of have had to pass the ball around more often and become less aggressive on the offensive side. Without his two star players he is able to get the rebound and take it down the court and either blow past his defender to the basket or post his defender up and out muscle his opponent for a layup.

Steph Curry Struggles in Game 2

Steph Curry had a rare bad shooting game last night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With Kyrie Irving out for the rest of the  NBA finals with a fractured kneecap everyone expected Steph Curry to really take over this series. But, that was not the case yesterday instead it was Klay Thompson who stepped up last night and finished with 34 points shooting 14 for 28 from the field. Klay Thompson got any shot he wanted when Matthew Dellavedova was guarding or basically whoever was guarding him Klay couldn't be stopped. However Matthew Dellavedova slowed down Steph Curry.

Steph Curry has been going up against some pretty good point guards such as Mike Conley, and Jrue Holiday who are way better then Dellavedova offensively and defensively and he still was able to get any shot he wanted and would put a lot of points every game. So it is very shocking that Steph Curry is getting shutdown by a role player who is not even a top 25 point guard in the NBA. But, you know what they say if one man goes down the next man has to step up and Dellavedova made that example true. This is the second time he had to start at point guard due to Kyrie Irving injuries. Delllavedova has made his presence known throughout the playoffs and last night was no difference.

Even though Matthew Dellavedova could not make up for the loss of Kyrie Irving scoring he made up for it on the defensive end. Dellavedova held Curry to just 19 points even with added time due to overtime. Steph Curry shot 5 for 23 from the field due to lock down defense from Matthew Dellavedova. Curry was only able to make 2 of his 15 threes he had shot. Steph Curry must shoot better in game 3 if the Golden State Warriors want to steal a win in Cleveland on Tuesday.

Kyrie Goes Down Again

Going into game 1 of the NBA finals everyone thought the week off rest would help Kyrie knee heal. Throughout the game it had looked like Kyrie knee was healthy and he was back to playing like the old Kyrie before the knee injuries. But in overtime Kyrie fell down while driving on Klay Thompson. Unfortunately he walked off the court in overtime limping back to the locker room. When he thought he had got away from the media you could see all on his face how much pain he was in.

The Cleveland Cavaliers trainers have three days to get Kyrie's knee ready for game two against the Warriors. Without Kyrie the Cavs chances of winning an NBA championship is getting smaller and smaller by the second. So the trainers must do everything possible to get Kyrie healthy by Sunday. Because if they have to start Matthew Dellavedova because Kyrie can't play due to knee injury Steph Curry will have a field day. Fortunately for the Cavs the MCL's and ACL's test came back negative for Kyrie's knee.

But, even with Kyrie Irving getting injured in overtime he played a phenomenal game considering it was his first NBA Finals appearance. Kyrie Irving finished with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Kyrie didn't let the bright lights of the NBA finals get to him and make him nervous. He helped LeBron with the scoring load tremendously. So the Cavs will need Kyrie Irving for game 2 if they want to have a shot of beating Golden State.

NBA Finals Preview

Tonight is game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Golden State Warriors. Game 1 will start off at Oracle Arena  tonight at 9 PM Eastern time and 6 PM Western time. We will finally get to see the match up we have been waiting for Steph Curry vs. LeBron James. We will see which MVP can lead their team to win an NBA Championship. This is the the first time the Golden State Warriors have been to the NBA Finals since 1975 where they beat the Washington Bullets 4-0. The Cleveland Cavaliers haven't been to the finals since 2007 where they got swept by the San Antonio Spurs.

The match up should be intriguing two Akron, Ohio natives going at it for a championship ring. Steph Curry is trying to add to his amazing MVP season by finishing it off with a ring. LeBron is trying to win his third championship ring and live up to his promise in bringing a championship back to Cleveland. Both star players have a good supporting cast on their team. Steph Curry has his splash brother teammate Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Harrison Andre Iguodala, Leanardo Barbosa, Festus Ezeli, and Andrew Bogut. LeBron James has Kyrie Irving, JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson, Timofey Mosgov and Matthew Dellavedova.

Now we know LeBron and Steph will come to play but, the key to both teams winning is health. For the Cavs to win they need Kyrie Irving to be healthy because he will have to help LeBron James with the scoring load as well as guarding either Steph Curry or Klay Thompson so I hope that week rest helped heal his knee or the Cavs will be in trouble. For the Warriors Klay Thompson was cleared to play game 1 against the Cavs after having concussion like symptoms in game 6 versus the Rockets where he got kneed in the ear by Trevor Ariza and was bleeding in the ear. So that's a good sign they are going to need his shooting and defense to win this series. Also the Cavs and the Warriors need their bench to play well. If JR Smith plays like he did last series the Cavs might upset the Warriors in the NBA Finals. Also another key match up to watch is between the two hustling big men Draymond Green vs. Tristan Thompson. Whoever wins that rebounding battle will more likely help their team win an NBA championship. But I pick the Golden State Warriors to win in six games if it even goes that far.
