Panthers Undefeated Season Quest Ends

Yesterday afternoon the Carolina Panthers tried to keep their undefeated season hopes alive. But, just like every other team the Panthers faced the Falcons were trying to give the Panthers their first loss of the season. The Falcons also snapped the Panthers 18 game win streak going back to last season. Cam Newton and the high-powered Carolina offense scored on their first opening drive. At that moment it looked like the Panthers would roll over the Falcons as they had did week 13 back in Charlotte, NC. But, that clearly wasn't the case.

With the first drive of the Falcons, the Panthers had a three and out defensive stop wrapped up. Unfortunately, Charles Tillman thought otherwise and got unsportsmanlike conduct by getting into a wrestling match with Falcons receiver Roddy White. Which later lead to a 4-yard touchdown run by Falcons running back Devonta Freeman. Later in the game, the Panthers had another chance to win the game by Josh Norman recovering a fumble from a bad snap that flew over Matt Ryan head. The Panthers offense could only get a field goal even with good field position off the fumble recovery which put the Panthers back up 10-7 in the third quarter.

Matt Ryan soon answered back by avoiding a sack and stepping up into the pockets and throwing the ball deep down field to Julio Jones who out jumped Luke Kuechly &Kurt Coleman that lead to a 70-yard touchdown untouched. The fourth quarter was just a plethora of field goals. Carolina offense had one more chance to tie the game and send the game to overtime. After a 19 yard completion to Panthers wide receiver Corey Brown, you would think the Panthers were moving in the right direction. But, the next play the rookie linebacker Vic Beasley out of Clemson strip sacked Cam Newton and Adrian Clayborn recovered it which lead to Atlanta winning the game 20-13. One good thing for the Carolina Panthers losing this helps takes pressure off them to go undefeated. Now they can just focus on winning a Super Bowl now.

Cam Newton finished the game going 17-30 for 142 yards passing yards. However he did get in the end zone running the ball finishing with 7 rushing attempts for 46 yards and a touchdown. Panthers running game was basically nonexistent with the exception of Cam Newton. Johnathan Stewart needs to be healthy before the playoffs or the Panthers will have some problems in the playoffs. Greg Olsen only had 4 receptions for 40 yards. Matt Ryan, however, went 23-30 for 306 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons. Julio had 9 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown. Roddy White even had a good game having 5 receptions and 67 yards. Devonta Freeman had 73 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Falcons.

Jason Richardson Retires

After a long 13 year NBA career Jason Richardson decides to retire and hang up his sneaks. Jason Richardson played for 5 teams Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Phoneix Suns, Orlando Magic, and his final destination the Philadelphia 76ers. Jason Richardson started his NBA career when he was selected with the 5th pick by the Golden State Wariors in 2001. Richardson was a 6-6 shooting guard coming out of Michigan State University. Jason Richardson first debuted in the NBA on October 31, 2001. The fans quickly fell in love with Jason Richardson's game esepcially with his high flying dunking ability.

Jason Richardson's high flying dunking ability won him the slam dunk contest in 2002 & 2003.
Jason Richardson knew how to put on a show for the fans. Even though Jason Richardson never made an all-star team he still was a phenomenal player. He just was in the wrong postion where alot of guys could score at the shooting guard postion which made him get overlooked for All-Star team spot.  Let's not forget he was in the West for majority of his career where a man name Kobe Bryant played and Jason Richardson clearly wasn't beating him out for an All-Star team spot. Also he had to beat out a healthy Tracy McGrady and that was not going to happen because Tracy McGrady was unstoppable when he was healthy. Jason Richardson made the playoffs for 4 times in his career unfortunately  he never won a NBA championship.

In Jason Richardson's 13 year he averaged 17.1 PPG (points per game), 5 RPG (rebounds per game), 2.7 APG (assists per game), and 1.2 SPG (steals per game). Jason Richardson was able to score 14,644 points in his career. Jason also was able to get 995 career steals, 4245 career rebounds, and 367 career blocks. He will forever be remembered in the NBA from his flashy dunks he use to do on fast breaks and in the NBA slam dunk contest. He will especially be remembered by the Golden State Warriors he gave them something to cheer about.

NFL Regular Season Returns

The NFL season kicks off tonight at 8:30 PM. The first game of the NFL regular season will be against the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the New England Patriots. Football fans have been waiting for the regular season football to come back since mid March. Now the wait is over and NFL football season is finally back. The NFL picked the right two teams to kickoff the NFL regular season.

Both of these teams dislike each other very strongly. This should be a great game to watch especially with Brady 4 game suspension getting overturned in court so you know he will be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Especially with him saying, "You know what my favorite ring is the next one". That just added fuel to the fire for this game. Also football fans will get too see how the Patriots corner backs look like with the loss of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner. The Patriots corner backs now put all their faith on Malcolm Butler who picked off Russell Wilson in the end zone to help the New England Patriots win the Superbowl last February.

Malcolm Butler will have a tough match up tonight covering one of the top wide receivers in the game in Antonio Brown.  I'm sure Ben Roethlisberger will test that match up a lot in the game. Especially with his star running back Le'Veon Bell suspended for the first 2 games due to being arrested on charges of marijuana possession. Also his other deep threat wide receiver Martavis Bryant is also suspended for the first 4 games due to violating the league's substance abuse policy. Tom Brady will also have to adjust without playing without his second favorite target Brandon Lafell since he has foot problems and will be out for the first 6 games. Also Julian Edelman is a game time decision tonight so all Tom Brady really has is Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola.

Judge Overturns Tom Brady's 4 Game Suspension

Back in May NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady for 4 games. Roger Goodell felt that Tom Brady was in connection with the footballs being deflated in the AFC Championship this past January against the Indianapolis Colts. Of course Tom Brady and the New England Patriots front office was not in favor and appealed Roger Goodell 4 game suspension.  Tom Brady continuously said he had nothing to do with deflategate scandal. However, we all know quarterbacks are usually the first one to get the feel of the balls before the game. Tom Brady definitely knew something was different about the football but still chose not to say anything.

Next red flag that should of went up to this judge that overturned Tom Brady 4 game suspension was Tom Brady destroyed his phone. Brady destroyed his phone when he was suppose to meet with Ted Wells an attorney hired by the NFL to investigate the deflategate case. No one in their right mind destroys their phone unless they have something to hide. Clearly Tom Brady felt guilty about something or he wouldn't have destroyed the phone especially knowing that Ted Wells wanted to see that phone to go through Brady's text messages to see if any foul play went on. But we will never know what went on since Tom Brady destroyed his phone.

Judge Berman overturned Tom Brady's 4 game suspension which makes him eligible to play Week 1 of the regular season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Judge Berman reason for overturning Tom Brady's suspension was no player should be penalized for being generally aware. Also he said, " That the NFL had no evidence that Brady had anything to do with the deflategate scandal". This was a big win for the National Football League Players Association. But, Roger Goodell quickly said he will appeal the decision made by Judge Berman so we will see what happens next.

Ty Lawson Traded to the Houston Rockets

During the 2015 NBA Draft the Nuggets selected Emmanuel Mudiay a 6'6 rookie point guard that played in China for a year. Most people including Ty Lawson knew his days playing in Denver was coming to an end. Especially considering Emmanuel couldn't shoot the ball too well so Mudiay wouldn't be able to start at shooting guard. Ty Lawson couldn't start at the shooting guard because he is too short. So it was a must that the Nuggets make a move to trade Ty Lawson away especially after Lawson getting his 2nd DUI and checking himself into a 30-day rehab program.

Last night Ty Lawson was traded to the Houston Rockets. The Houston Rockets traded their first round pick that is protected, Pablo Prigioni, Joey Dorsey, and Nick Johnson. The Houston Rockets basically was able to get Ty Lawson without trading any of their key players away. This trade helped out both teams. This trade helped out the Houston Rockets because they have been desperately looking for a point guard that can score the ball. This was a good trade for the Denver Nuggets because they didn't want to keep players that didn't want to be there. Now that the Rockets have Ty Lawson as their point guard they're back in championship contention considering Ty Lawson stays out of trouble.

76ers Open Up Summer League Action Against San Antonio Spurs

Yesterday the Philadelphia 76ers opened their summer league play in the Utah summer league. The 76ers took on the San Antonio Spurs. Sixers fans finally got to see their lottery pick play the same season they get drafted. Jahlil Okafor made his debut last night against the Spurs. Jahlil Okafor scored 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.

The 76ers kept the game close through the first half of the game trailing the San Antonio Spurs 34-30. But the third quarter the 76ers owned that quarter. The 76ers outscored the Spurs 24 to 15 in third quarter. The 76ers ended the third quarter leading 54 to 49. But, the 4th quarter is where the Spurs regained control of the game. The Spurs outscored the 76ers 25 to 17. The Spurs beat the 76ers in a close game 74-71. The 76ers play again tonight at 7 PM Eastern on NBA TV against the Boston Celtics.

Some bright spots for the 76ers were their young players are starting to get better. Jordan McRae the 76ers last year second round pick who played overseas this past year had 15 points and 5 rebounds last night. Furkan Aldemir may not have scored but he still was effective and was able to get 11 rebounds & 2 blocks which is very impressive. Jerami Grant had 13 points and 6 rebounds. Richaun Holmes this year's 76ers 2nd round pick had 9 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. T.J. McConnell an undrafted rookie that played college basketball at Arizona University had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Day 1 of NBA Free Agency

The moment every championship contender and rebuilding team has been waiting for since the NBA playoffs was over is finally here! NBA free agency has finally started and NBA teams are allowed to contact and schedule meetings with unrestricted free agents & restricted free agents. An unrestricted free agent is a player that doesn't have to worry about his former team matching a contract offer made by another team. However the restricted free agents don't have that same luxury as unrestricted free agents. For restricted free agents even if they get offers from another team the player's former team has a chance to match their offer even if the player doesn't want to play for his former team. The players can't sign their new contracts until July 9th.

Some key names have already resigned back with the teams that they played with this season. Kevin Love has signed back with the Cleveland Cavaliers for 5 years the deal is worth 110 million dollars. Anthony Davis signed a contract extension with the  New Orleans Pelicans for 5 years the deal is worth 145 million dollars. Danny Green resigned back with the San Antonio Spurs for 4 years the deal is worth 45 million dollars. Kawhi Leonard resigned with the San Antonio Spurs for 5 years the  deal is worth 90 million dollars. Jimmy Butler resigned with the Chicago Bulls for 5 years the deal is worth 95 million dollars. Kris Middleton resigned with the Milwaukee Bucks for 5 years the deal is worth 70 million dollars.Mike Dunleavy resigned with the Chicago Bulls for 3 years the deal is worth 14.4 million dollars. Brandon Knight has resigned with the Phoenix Suns for 5 years the deal is worth 70 million dollars. Goran Dragic resigned with the Miami Heat to a 5 year deal that is worth 90 million dollars. Damion Lillard signed a contract extension with the Portland Trailblazers for 4 years the deal is worth 120 million dollars. Brook Lopez resigned with the Brooklyn Nets for 3 years the deal is worth 60 million dollars. Thaddeus Young resigned with the Nets for 4 years the deal is worth 50 million dollars.

Some surprising signings have happened also in Day 1 of NBA free agency as well. Tyson Chandler signed with the Phoenix Suns for 4 years the deal is worth 52 millions. There were rumors going around that if the Los Angeles Clippers lost DeAndre Jordan to free agency they were going to try and sign Tyson Chandler. Another surprising move was the Toronto Raptors signing him to a a 4 year deal that is worth 50 million dollars. The Boston Celtics signed big man Amir Johnson to a 2 year deal that is worth 24 million dollars. Their was even a trade in day 1 of NBA free agency that had Tiago Splitter get traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Atlanta Hawks. The Spurs did this deal to free up cap space to sign star big man LaMarcus Aldridge. Al-Farouq Aminu signed a 4 year deal with the Portland Trailblazers that is worth 30 million dollars. Another surprising moment in the day 1 of NBA free agency is Draymond Green and Warriors personnel are not seeing eye to eye with contract negotiations. Draymond Green is now open to talking to other teams about contract he is a restricted free agent so the Warriors can march any offer another team gives him.

Philadelphia 76ers Could Get Another 1st Round Pick

Before the NBA Draft lottery the 76ers had a chance to have 4 first round picks in the 2015 draft. Sadly they only finished with 1 first round pick which is there own with the number 3 pick in this year's draft. The 76ers had the Lakers pick which was top 5 protected which they didn't get because the Lakers have the number 2 pick in this year's draft. The third 1st pick they could have got for this year's draft was the Miami Heat which was top 10 protected sadly the Heat have the 10th pick in this year's draft. The fourth first round pick the 76ers had a chance to get was the Oklahoma City Thunder pick which was top 19 protected unfortunately the 76ers didn't get that pick either due to injury of Kevin Durant the Thunder didn't make the playoffs and have the number 14 pick in this year's draft.

But rumors are going around that the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trailblazers are in trade talks involving draft picks. As you know the Blazers are in the process of trying to resign LaMarcus Aldridge to a max deal so saving as much money possible would be the smart thing to do. So the Trailblazers are considering trading their 1st round 23rd pick to the 76ers for the 76ers two second round picks 35 & 37.  This deal would smart for both teams. This deal would be smart for the 76ers because they need all the talent they can get 76ers fans are getting restless and tired of watching a tanking team. This would be a smart move for the Trailblazers because the contracts for players in the second round are much cheaper then getting a player in the first round. However this trade can't happen until the draft starts since the Trailblazers traded their 2016 first round pick that is lottery protected to the Denver Nuggets. Hopefully this trade happens.

Golden State Wins NBA Finals

Last night the Golden State Warriors was able to rap up the NBA Finals and win their first NBA Championship in 40 years. The final score was 105-97 Golden State way. Golden State beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4 to 2 in NBA Finals. The Warriors not only dominated the NBA in the regular season but also in the postseason as well. The Golden State Warriors record combined between with the regular season & postseason was 83-20 which is phenomenal.

The loss of Kevin Love & Kyrie Irving started show in the NBA Finals but LeBron still kept the Cavs in at least contention of challenging the Warriors for a championship. But, in game 5 that lineup change by Steve Kerr really sealed the deal for the Warriors to win a championship. The Warriors lineup gave the Cavaliers trouble in game 5 and game 6. Andre Igoudala  was the key to the Warriors beating the Cavaliers in the finals he slowed down LeBron when he was guarding him and scored on the offense end as well. Andre Igoudala won the NBA Finals MVP which he certainly deserved.

Last night Steph Curry played a phenomenal game he had 25 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Andre Igoudala played a great game he had 25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Draymond Green had a triple double in the closeout game finishing with 16  points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Festus Ezeli had 10 points, and 4 rebounds off the bench. Shaun Livingston had 10 points, and 3 rebounds.

Golden State Warriors One Win from An NBA Championship

Last night the Warriors stuck with their small lineup and it worked well once again. The Warriors small lineup continued to give the Cavaliers team problems. The small lineup gave the Cavs team so much problems that 7'1Timofey Mosgov only played 9 minutes. The previous game Mosgov had a career high game having 28 points and 10 rebounds. So David Blatt decision to sit Mosgov in yesterday's game was very questionable.

With the Warriors going small this has really helped them stretch the floor and have a more uptempo offense. Steph Curry had an MVP like performance in last night game scoring 15 points in the 4th quarter. Steph Curry finished with 37 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Curry finally found away to get around Dellavedova good defense. Andre Iguodala had another good start for the Warriors he finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Leandro Barbosa had another good game off the bench for the Warriors finishing with 13 points, and 2 rebounds. Draymond Green played another solid game he had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Klay Thompson finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

LeBron James finished with 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. But, that still wasn't enough for the Cavs to win. Tristan Thompson had 19 points and 10 rebounds. JR Smith finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Iman Shumpert had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. The final score was 104-91 in favor of the Golden State Warriors. Now the Cavs go back to Cleveland facing elimination game tomorrow night.

Golden State Routs Cavs in Game 4 to Even the Series

With the Warriors going into game 4 down 2-1 people were curious to see if the Warriors will finally play with a sense of urgency. Well last night those questions were answered Steve Kerr made a smart lineup change by going small in the starting lineup. Others were questioning Golden State urgency to win in the NBA finals. People have been saying the Cavs have been playing like their desperate while the Warriors have been playing like they have nothing to lose. Last night tables turned Warriors were the one playing like they were desperate for a change.

Steph Curry was finally able to get out of his shooting woes. Curry scored 22 points shooting 8 for 17 from the field.  Steph Curry was also able to make 4 3pt shots out of 7. Chef Curry is back and that could be a bad thing for the Cavaliers. If both splash brothers Steph Curry & Klay Thompson play well in the same game this series is over for the Cavs.

Draymond Green really stepped up yesterday for the Warriors he had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. He is the heart and sole of the Warriors team everyone on that team feeds off his energy. Another player that stepped up was Andre Iguodala who had 22 points, and 8 rebounds this game was the first time he started this season. Harrison Barnes finally stepped up and got 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and an assist. David Lee even got 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists off the bench. Hopefully the Warriors start off small again because it worked perfectly in game 4.

LeBron Leads Cavs to 2-1 Lead in NBA Finals

LeBron leads the Cavs again to another win in the NBA Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers are now two wins from being NBA champions. LeBron got basically any shot he wanted against the Warriors yesterday. He was playing like a man on a mission. LeBron finished with 40 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

This is the third straight game in the NBA Finals that LeBron scored 40+ points in the NBA Finals. Without Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving LeBron has still been able to lead this depleted Cavs team to victory. But LeBron has got some help from his role players especially from Matthew Dellavedova, JR Smith, Timofev Mosgov, and Tristan Thompson. Matthew Dellavedova surprisingly scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists last night. Dellavedova has been stepping up for the Cavs tremendously and has been able to slow down MVP Steph Curry with his physical defense.

LeBron becomes the all-time leading scorer through the first 3 games in the NBA Finals with 123. I feel like with the loss of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love he was able to play his game more and just be able to shoot at will. With Love and Irving he would of have had to pass the ball around more often and become less aggressive on the offensive side. Without his two star players he is able to get the rebound and take it down the court and either blow past his defender to the basket or post his defender up and out muscle his opponent for a layup.

Steph Curry Struggles in Game 2

Steph Curry had a rare bad shooting game last night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With Kyrie Irving out for the rest of the  NBA finals with a fractured kneecap everyone expected Steph Curry to really take over this series. But, that was not the case yesterday instead it was Klay Thompson who stepped up last night and finished with 34 points shooting 14 for 28 from the field. Klay Thompson got any shot he wanted when Matthew Dellavedova was guarding or basically whoever was guarding him Klay couldn't be stopped. However Matthew Dellavedova slowed down Steph Curry.

Steph Curry has been going up against some pretty good point guards such as Mike Conley, and Jrue Holiday who are way better then Dellavedova offensively and defensively and he still was able to get any shot he wanted and would put a lot of points every game. So it is very shocking that Steph Curry is getting shutdown by a role player who is not even a top 25 point guard in the NBA. But, you know what they say if one man goes down the next man has to step up and Dellavedova made that example true. This is the second time he had to start at point guard due to Kyrie Irving injuries. Delllavedova has made his presence known throughout the playoffs and last night was no difference.

Even though Matthew Dellavedova could not make up for the loss of Kyrie Irving scoring he made up for it on the defensive end. Dellavedova held Curry to just 19 points even with added time due to overtime. Steph Curry shot 5 for 23 from the field due to lock down defense from Matthew Dellavedova. Curry was only able to make 2 of his 15 threes he had shot. Steph Curry must shoot better in game 3 if the Golden State Warriors want to steal a win in Cleveland on Tuesday.

Kyrie Goes Down Again

Going into game 1 of the NBA finals everyone thought the week off rest would help Kyrie knee heal. Throughout the game it had looked like Kyrie knee was healthy and he was back to playing like the old Kyrie before the knee injuries. But in overtime Kyrie fell down while driving on Klay Thompson. Unfortunately he walked off the court in overtime limping back to the locker room. When he thought he had got away from the media you could see all on his face how much pain he was in.

The Cleveland Cavaliers trainers have three days to get Kyrie's knee ready for game two against the Warriors. Without Kyrie the Cavs chances of winning an NBA championship is getting smaller and smaller by the second. So the trainers must do everything possible to get Kyrie healthy by Sunday. Because if they have to start Matthew Dellavedova because Kyrie can't play due to knee injury Steph Curry will have a field day. Fortunately for the Cavs the MCL's and ACL's test came back negative for Kyrie's knee.

But, even with Kyrie Irving getting injured in overtime he played a phenomenal game considering it was his first NBA Finals appearance. Kyrie Irving finished with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Kyrie didn't let the bright lights of the NBA finals get to him and make him nervous. He helped LeBron with the scoring load tremendously. So the Cavs will need Kyrie Irving for game 2 if they want to have a shot of beating Golden State.

NBA Finals Preview

Tonight is game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. the Golden State Warriors. Game 1 will start off at Oracle Arena  tonight at 9 PM Eastern time and 6 PM Western time. We will finally get to see the match up we have been waiting for Steph Curry vs. LeBron James. We will see which MVP can lead their team to win an NBA Championship. This is the the first time the Golden State Warriors have been to the NBA Finals since 1975 where they beat the Washington Bullets 4-0. The Cleveland Cavaliers haven't been to the finals since 2007 where they got swept by the San Antonio Spurs.

The match up should be intriguing two Akron, Ohio natives going at it for a championship ring. Steph Curry is trying to add to his amazing MVP season by finishing it off with a ring. LeBron is trying to win his third championship ring and live up to his promise in bringing a championship back to Cleveland. Both star players have a good supporting cast on their team. Steph Curry has his splash brother teammate Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Harrison Andre Iguodala, Leanardo Barbosa, Festus Ezeli, and Andrew Bogut. LeBron James has Kyrie Irving, JR Smith, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson, Timofey Mosgov and Matthew Dellavedova.

Now we know LeBron and Steph will come to play but, the key to both teams winning is health. For the Cavs to win they need Kyrie Irving to be healthy because he will have to help LeBron James with the scoring load as well as guarding either Steph Curry or Klay Thompson so I hope that week rest helped heal his knee or the Cavs will be in trouble. For the Warriors Klay Thompson was cleared to play game 1 against the Cavs after having concussion like symptoms in game 6 versus the Rockets where he got kneed in the ear by Trevor Ariza and was bleeding in the ear. So that's a good sign they are going to need his shooting and defense to win this series. Also the Cavs and the Warriors need their bench to play well. If JR Smith plays like he did last series the Cavs might upset the Warriors in the NBA Finals. Also another key match up to watch is between the two hustling big men Draymond Green vs. Tristan Thompson. Whoever wins that rebounding battle will more likely help their team win an NBA championship. But I pick the Golden State Warriors to win in six games if it even goes that far.

Dwayne Wade May Opt Out of Contract

As we all know last off season Dwayne Wayne took a significant pay cut so the Heat could resign LeBron James to a max deal so he could stay with the Miami Heat. But, as we know LeBron James decided to return home to play for his hometown team the Cleveland Cavaliers. So the Miami Heat now are left with a decent amount of money to spend this off season. This is the second time in Wade's Heat tenure that he took a pay cut for the betterment of the team. The pay cut he took last summer had him lose about 6 million dollars. So with that being said Wade is looking for a raise. Dwayne Wade will more then likely opt out of his 2 year 33 million dollar deal.

If the Heat doesn't give him a raise he has made it clear that he will become a free agent and look for a new team that is willing to pay him. It's time the Miami Heat show Dwayne Wade the loyalty he has been giving them for the past 12 years. Dwayne Wade has brought 3 NBA championships to the Miami Heat. Even with Wade aging he was still able to average 21.5 points per game , 4.8 assists per game, and 3.5 rebounds per game this season. So if the Heat don't want to get any worse they what they were this year they better give him what he asks for. There should not be anyone saying Wade is being greedy and selfish because he has shown everyone he's all about winning and doing what's best for the team.

As we saw last season with LeBron in Miami they lost in the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs. Without LeBron and with Bosh having to sit out the rest of the season due to blood clots the Miami Heat are a lottery team with the 10th pick in this year draft. If Miami loses Dwayne Wade in free agency they could be a NBA Lottery team the following season as well. Dwayne Wade deserves a raise and he deserves to retire a Miami Heat player. Hopefully Pat Riley and the Miami Heat front office makes the right decision and resigns Wade to the deal he wants.

Adrian Peterson May Retire

Even as ridiculous as it sounds that Adrian Peterson may be retiring it is not far off as it seems. Adrian Peterson made it clear that he wants to be traded by the Minnesota Vikings. The Minnesota Vikings made it clear that they don't want to trade him.  Also the team Adrian Peterson wants to be traded to the Dallas Cowboys is the least likely team the Minnesota Vikings will be willing to trade him too. So neither the Minnesota Vikings or Adrian Peterson & his agent have not seen eye to eye with anything at this point.

Adrian Peterson has skipped  OTA's which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. AP has told people who are close to him that he is willing to do anything possible to not have to play for the Minnesota Vikings ever again. Adrian Peterson still feels that the Vikings didn't back him like they should have when he was dealing with the child abuse case. In result of the Vikings not backing AP during the child abuse case they now are at risk of losing their franchise runnning back. Adrian Peterson is the Minnesota Vikings all-time leading rusher.

In Adrian Peterson 8 year career he has rushed for 10,190 and 86 touchdowns. Losing a talent like that will hurt the Minnesota Vikings franchise tremendously. So the Minnesota Vikings better get on Adrian Peterson and his agent Ben Dogra good side. The only thing the Vikings has in their favor is AP is owed 45 million dollars in the next 3 years. No team wants to take on that ridiculous contract especially with most of the teams with running back issues have already drafted young star running backs for a cheap price compared to AP contract.

JR Smith & LeBron James Take Over in Game 1

Last night was game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks. The first quarter Atlanta Hawks jumped out to an early lead that put them up 6 at the end of the first quarter. The Hawks got a little help in the first by LeBron getting into early foul trouble. But, the second quarter the Cavs were able to get a run of their own. The Cavs run led them to tie the game up 51-51 heading into halftime. The third quarter is when the Cavs started to separate themselves from the Hawks.

The Cavs outscored the Hawks 23 to 16 in third quarter. At the end of the third quarter the score was 74 to 67 with the Cavs in the lead. The second half is when JR Smith just basically took over the game and was hitting fade away threes with defenders all in his face. JR Smith was playing like a man possessed and no one could stop him. JR Smith finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. JR Smith also had a playoff record by making 8 3 point shots.

LeBron James also had a great game for the Cavs as well. LeBron was having a decent game when DeMarre Carroll was guarding him. But, when DeMarre Carroll went out the game with a hyperextended knee he really took over the game. The Atlanta Hawks were forced to have Paul Millsap guard LeBron James and that was just a disaster he had Paul Milsap on skates every time Millsap came out to the perimeter to guard him. LeBron James finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal. Game 2 will be on Friday in Atlanta if LeBron James & JR Smith play like they did in game 1 the Cavs should win game 2 as well.

Los Angeles Lakers Jump to Number 2 Pick for the 2015 NBA Draft

Last night was the NBA draft lottery that took place in New York. The NBA draft lottery is for the 14 teams in the NBA that didn't make the playoffs this year. They have a chance to land the number one spot in the draft to land the best talent out of college basketball or from overseas basketball. The projected top three picks before the NBA draft lottery from 1-3 was the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and Philadelphia 76ers. But, as most of us know the lottery sometimes doesn't fall the way you would usually expect it to happen there is always that one team that sneaks into the top 3 that nobody thought would get a pick that high. For instance the Cleveland Cavaliers got the 1st pick 2 years in row which is a rarity.

Last night in the NBA draft lottery was no different. The New York Knicks who were projected to get the number 2 pick in the NBA draft lottery somehow dropped down and got the 4th pick in the draft. That was a huge blow to the Knicks front office, players, coaches, and fans. After a horrific season for the New York Knicks where they finished 17-65 you would think they would get rewarded with the number 1 pick or number 2 pick at worst. But, that wasn't the case unfortunately there are rumors that the New York Knicks are shopping the number 4 and are open to listening to trades.

The Los Angeles Lakers was the one team that shocked everyone and snuck into the top 3 picks in the draft. The Los Angeles Lakers were projected to be a number 4 pick before the NBA draft lottery. At worst the Lakers were projected to go number 5. But the Los Angeles exceeded projections and jumped to the number 2 spot for the 2015 NBA draft which will be held June 25th. I guess the early season injuries from Julius Randle and Kobe Bryant paid off since they will have a lottery pick for the second straight year in a row to add some more young talent to the LA Lakers.

Los Angeles Clippers Blow 3-1 Lead

Image result for houston rockets-los angeles clippers game 7

The Houston Rockets became the 9th team in NBA history to come back down 3-1 in a series and win the series. The Clippers did not come out in yesterday game like this was a game 7. They came out like they were playing in a regular season game. The Houston Rockets outscored the Clippers 56 to 46 at half. It seemed like the Clippers were a step behind the Rockets the whole game.

The Houston Rockets beat the Los Angeles Clippers in game 7 113-100. It seemed like the Houston Rockets momentum carried from game 6 to game 7 as well. Kevin McHale lineup change of starting Josh Smith over Terrence Jones was a great idea. Josh Smith had 15 points, and 1 block in 22 minutes of play. Josh Smith so far during this year's playoffs has started to play like the old Josh Smith back when he was with the Atlanta Hawks. James Harden had 31 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. Dwight Howard had 16 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Trevor Ariza had 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Corey Brewer had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Terrence Jones had 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 block in 22 minutes of play. Next up for the Houston Rockets will be the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors starting Tuesday at 9 PM Eastern time at Golden State.

Although the Los Angeles Clippers lost the series Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Jamal Crawford played well this series. I would add JJ Redick on that list but he was up and down throughout this series. Chris Paul had 26 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals what more could you ask for from him. Blake Griffin had 27 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 block. DeAndre Jordan had 16 points, 17 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks. Jamal Crawford had 17 points, 1 assist, and 1 steal. JJ Redick had 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 assists. But, JJ Redick struggled from the 3pt line shooting 2 for 9 from behind the arc. In order for the Clippers to move forward next season they must resign DeAndre Jordan in offseason, sign a small forward in free agency or draft a small forward because Matt Barnes is just flat out terrible, and they need to add depth to their bench focusing mainly on a backup point guard and big men that can come off the bench to give Jordan and Griffin rest because Spencer Hawes and Glen Davis definitely didn't do that.

Clippers Fall Short to Spurs

Last night playoff game was another close game between the Los Angeles Clippers & San Antonio Spurs. Any bad decisions could of resulted in a loss for either club. With DeAndre Jordan continuing to struggle with knocking down free throws shooting 7 for 16 from the free throw line helped the Spurs to slow down Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. As I said earlier one bad decision could result for any club well that's what happened to the Clippers DeAndre tried to tip in a shot that Blake Griffin took that was going in with 4.3 seconds left in the game which lead to Jordan being called for basketball interference. This lead to the San Antonio Spurs winning game 5 111-107 over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Hack a Jordan has really been working for Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs. They lead the series 3-2 and can close out the series tomorrow night at 9:30 PM Eastern in San Antonio. Even though the Clippers lost Blake Griffin had a great game having 30 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block. Even with the bad judgment play by DeAndre Jordan late in the game he also had a good game he had 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Chris Paul had 19 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. JJ Redick had 13 points. Jamal Crawford had a tough shooting night shooting just 4-15 from the field but was able to score 8 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Glen Davis was able to contribute by having 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal.

The Spurs outscored the Clippers bench 48 to 17. Manu Ginoboli had 14 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 block. Patty Mills had 13 points, and 4 rebounds.  Boris Diaw had 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal. Marco Belinelli had 8 points and 2 rebounds. The starters for the Spurs played great as well. Tim Duncan had 21 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Kawhi Leonard had 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. Tony Parker had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Danny Green contributed with 9 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Kevin Love out for Next Round of Playoffs

Kevin Love went down with a dislocated shoulder in Sunday's game 4 against the Boston Celtics. Kevin Love thought Kelly Olynyk dislocated his arm on purpose by locking their arms together and thinks Olynyk pulled on his shoulder to dislocate it. Love thought it wasn't a basketball play at all. I'm guessing the NBA thought the same thing since they suspended Kelly Olynyk for 1 game for next season. I didn't see anything wrong with the play I just saw two players going for a rebound and neither of them wanted to give each other any advantage to get the rebound so they held each other. The same type of play happened Monday night between Jeff Green and Nicolas Batum they both were arm locked going for a rebound only difference is nobody got a dislocated shoulder Kevin Love just was unlucky to get injured.

With the Cavs waiting for their opponent for the Eastern Conference Finals either between the Chicago Bulls or Milwaukee Bucks losing Kevin Love isn't good. Both the Bucks and the Bulls have a good big man play. The loss of Kevin Love will expose the limited depth the Cavaliers have at the big man position. Timofey Mozgov, Tristan Thompson, Brendan Haywood, and Kendrick Perkins must step of if the Cavs want to advance to the conference finals. Only two big men that has decent offense skills are Mozgov and Thompson and I don't think neither one of them will be handle to score that much on Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, or Taj Gibson. Or John Henson, Ersan Ilyasova, and Miles Plumlee if they end up playing the Bucks.

So the Cavs basically have a lot of work ahead of them if they wish to bring a NBA Championship to Cleveland. But losing J.R. Smith for two games in the next round will hurt them. J.R. was suspended two games for the next round for hitting Jae Crowder in the face in Sunday's game 4 against the Boston Celtics. All the pressure now lies on Kyrie Irving and LeBron James if they play the way they been playing in the first round of the playoffs the Cavs should at least advance to the conference finals no matter who they play in the semifinals. Only time will tell how significant the loss of Kevin Love will be.

8th Seeds Clinched

Yesterday both 8th seeds were up for grab in both the Western and Eastern Conferences. For the West it was between the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans. All the Pelicans had to do was win and they would clinch the 8th seed regardless if the Thunder won and they did just that. The New Orleans Pelicans beat the San Antonio Spurs 108-103. They almost blew a 20 point lead but, were about to prevail. The Eastern Conference seed race was between the Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers. The Brooklyn Nets held the tiebreaker over the Pacers so all they had to do was win and they also did just that. The Brooklyn Nets beat the Orlando Magic 101-88. The Indiana Pacers ended up losing to Memphis 95-83 so the Brooklyn Nets were set regardless.

If the New Orleans Pelicans continue the strong play they have been playing toward the end of the season they should at least give Golden State a run in the playoffs, They match up with them pretty well all they have to do is keep Golden State off the three point line and they might have a chance of beating them. Also their starters must stay healthy that's been the main problem for the Pelicans all year. Jrue Holiday has missed a lot of games if he can stay healthy the Pelicans might pull of an upset. The Pelicans must continue to feed the ball to Anthony Davis because although  Draymond Green plays pretty good defense it will not be enough to stop Davis and if they switch Andrew Bogut to guard him Anthony Davis will just blow past him because Bogut is to slow. This series starts on Saturday at 3:30 PM Eastern on ABC.

Now if the Nets want to do anything in the playoffs it all lies on what Deron Williams & Joe Johnson will show up. Deron was basically nonexistent in last year playoffs. You never know what Deron Williams your going to get the one who shows why people think he is a superstar or the Deron Williams who is moody and doesn't give too much effort. For Joe Johnson last year playoffs was the first time he actually played well in the playoffs because when he was in Atlanta he was basically a non factor. Also for once they have a healthy Brook Lopez in the playoffs so that helps them significantly in the post on offense and defense he's a good player when he's actually healthy. This series starts on Sunday at 5:30 PM Eastern on TNT.

It All Comes Down to One Game

The 8th seed in the Western Conference will be decided Wednesday between the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans. Everyone counted Oklahoma City out when word got out that Kevin Durant will have to sit out for the rest of the season due to foot injuries. But, Russell Westbrook stepped his game up to another level and put the team on his back. Since Durant has been gone Russell Westbrook has had 11 triple doubles. Also the trades the Thunder made helped them out tremendously by getting Dion Waiters, Enes Kanter, Kyle Singler, and DJ Augustin.

The New Orleans Pelicans has had to face some injuries from their star player also. Anthony Davis has had to sit out a few weeks after All-Star break to recover from a shoulder injury. But, when he came back to play off injury he came back stronger then ever. Anthony Davis is averaging 24.2 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game, 2.9 blocks per game, and 1.5 steals per game. In any other season he would probably win the MVP race with those numbers he is putting up.

The New Orleans Pelicans own the tiebreaker against the Oklahoma City Thunder. All the New Orleans Pelicans have to do is beat the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday and they will make the make the playoffs to play the Golden State Warriors in the 1st round of the Western Conference Playoffs. The Oklahoma City Thunder however have to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves and need the New Orleans Pelicans to lose against the San Antonio Spurs in order to make the playoffs. Wednesday will be  a great day for sports fans to see who will get that 8th seed to make the playoffs. This will be a great season finale for the NBA.

Paul George Returns

Paul George returned yesterday to play the Miami Heat after suffering that horrific leg injury during the summer in the team USA exhibition game. Paul George was greeted with a standing ovation from Indiana Pacers fans when he checked into the game for the first time. His first basket came off a pick from Roy Hibbert where he was to able to get separation from the defender to hit a floater. Paul George played like he hasn't been sitting out for a very long time. Paul George may give the Pacers they lift they need to get the final spot in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Paul George first game was much better then people expected. Most people thought he would come out rusty and would be missing a lot of shots. Or he would come out playing playing tentative because he was scared to get injured again. But Paul George came out with confidence and played like the old Paul George before he got injured. The Pacers couldn't of got him back at a better time.

Paul George played in just 14 minutes. But, Paul George was able to score 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Paul George made the most of his first game back. Paul George was able to hit 3 three pointers in his return. With Paul George back that 8th spot in the playoffs is looking a little more hopeful for Indiana Pacers players, fans, coaches, and personnel.

Wisconsin Upsets Kentucky

With Kentucky going into the final 4 they were two wins away from a perfect season and winning a national championship. But, Frank Kaminsky and company had another plan for Kentucky. Last night Wisconsin gave Kentucky their first loss. Unfortunately that one loss came at the wrong time for Kentucky considering the tournament is win or go home. Wisconsin shocked the world by beating Kentucky 71-64.
John Calipari continuously said that his team was not perfect but we're undefeated and only way his team will lose is if a team plays the way they play very well. Well last night Wisconsin played the way they play very well. Wisconsin matched up very well against Kentucky. Frank Kaminsky gave Kentucky's big men problems the whole game. Frank Kaminsky dominated the game on the offensive side and defensive side. Frank Kaminsky had 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.

Sam Dekker also played a good game for Wisconsin he had 16 points, and 3 rebounds, Nigel Hayes had 12 points, and 5 rebounds. Bronson Koenig had 12 points, and 4 rebounds. Traveon Jackson had 6 points, and 2 assists in just 12 minutes of play, The Harrison twins combined for 25 points. Karl Anthony-Towns had 16 points, and 9 rebounds. Trey Lyles had 9 points. Devin Booker & Tyler Ulis had 6 points a piece coming off the bench. Willie Cauley-Stein was basically nonexistent for most of the game he only had 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 33 minutes of play. Wisconsin will play Duke for the National Championship tomorrow night at 9 PM Eastern.

Wisconsin-Kentucky Final 4 rematch

With both Kentucky and Wisconsin winning this weekend in the elite 8 they both advanced to the final 4. Wisconsin gets the rematch they been wanting. They were left last year around this time with a bitter feeling losing 74 to 73 Kentucky in last year's final four. Kentucky won from a game winning shot from Aaron Harrison. But some of their key players from that last year's Kentucky team went to the NBA such as Julius Randle, and James Young.

However last year around this time Kentucky didn't have their lock down post defender in Willie Cauley-Stein so that should help them. Also they still have the Harrison twins back and star freshman players Trey Lyles and Karl-Anthony Towns. Karl-Anthony Towns basically picked apart the Notre Dame defense he basically did whatever he wanted to do finishing with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. But that will be a different story when they play Wisconsin Frank Kaminsky will not let him have his way in the post. So Kentucky will need their guard play from the Harrison twins, Devin Booker, and Tyler Ulis to step up.

The one thing going in the Wisconsin Badgers favor is majority of the team that went to last year's final four will play in this year's final four. So this team already knows what to expect in this final four game. Wisconsin has a lot more experience then the Kentucky team and that could be a key factor in them beating Kentucky this Saturday night. Another factor to Wisconsin beating Kentucky is an improved Frank Kaminsky who had just scored 8 points in last year's final four game vs. Kentucky. This year Frank Kaminsky is a finalist for the National Player of the Year he has improved drastically. Frank Kaminsky had 29 points and 6 rebounds against Arizona he's been having a phenomenal season and it has continued in the NCAA Tournament. Karl-Anthony Towns & Willie Cauley-Stein will have their hands full guarding him. Sam Dekker had another phenomenal game and had 27 points and 5 rebounds. I don't see Lyles locking down Dekker look for Dekker to have another 25 or more type game. Bu the main piece for Wisconsin to pull off the upset over Kentucky is Nigel Hayes he must help slow down Karl Anthony-Towns as well get rebounds on the defensive end to keep Kentucky from getting second chance points and score 8 or points on the offensive side. We will see who will prevail on Saturday Night to go to the National Championship game.

Kentucky Humbles Daxter Miles

After the West Virginia-Maryland game last weekend during the after game press conference a reporter asked Daxter Miles, Jr. what he  thought their chances were against Kentucky.  Miles said,  " I Salute them to getting to 36-0 but tomorrow they will be 36-1". That was a very bold statement  especially to a team in some games that looks like they can beat some NBA teams. Kentucky already had enough fuel to the fire to win a national champ and finish the season undefeated.  Daxter Miles added unnecessary fuel by making that idiotic comment that they will send Kentucky home and end their chances of having an undefeated season.

Kentucky showed Miles & West Virginia why they were undefeated going up 20 to 2 on West Virginia within the first 5 minutes of the game.  Kentucky made West Virginia look like middle school kids. West Virginia couldn't get nothing going against that great defense from Kentucky. West Virginia was only able to shoot 24.1 percent from the field. Nothing went right for West Virginia last night.

Kentucky beat West Virginia 78-39. All that trash talking from Daxter Miles, Jr. he sure didn't back it up he didn't score a single basket going 0/3 from the field and 0/2 from the free throw line. Trey Lyles had 14 points and 7 rebounds. The Harrison twins combined for 25 points. Willie Cauley-Stein had 8 points and 10 rebounds. Dakari Johnson had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Devin Booker had 12 points and 4 rebounds. I bet Daxter Miles won't run his mouth like that again.

Dwight Howard Returns

Dwight Howard returns tonight to play against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing 26 games from a knee injury. The Houston Rockets have been 17-9 without Howard. Rumors have said that Dwight Howard told James Harden don't change up your play because I'm back. We will see if Howard sticks to his word because James Harden had been playing phenomenal since Howard has been out and making a case to why he should win MVP.  The Rockets are currently the number 3 seed in the Western Conference playoff race. James Harden has been averaging 27.2 points per game.

Before Dwight Howard got injured he was averaging 16.3 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, and 1.4 blocks per game. The Rockets are projected to start Dwight Howard at the Center position but will play limited minutes.  Sources say Dwight Howard will play about 14-16 minutes in tonight's game. Howard sure picked the wrong game to come back off injury because he has to face young stud Anthony Davis who is having a breakout season. But the one thing Howard & Davis have in common this season are they both have been having trouble to stay healthy and has had to sit out games due to injuries.

The return of Dwight Howard can go either way for the Houston Rockets. The return could either help the Rockets and help them make that playoff push for that #2 seed in which they are 2.5 games back from the Memphis Grizzlies. Or the return of Dwight Howard can affect the chemistry in a negative way and possibly have them go on a losing streak and push them back to the 4th seed. Hopefully the return of Dwight Howard doesn't clog up the driving lane for James Harden or Trevor Ariza.  We will see tonight what the return of Dwight Howard means for the Houston Rockets.

ACC Dominating NCAA Tournament

No one expected the ACC to be this strong in the NCAA Tournament outside of Duke, Notre Dame, and Virginia. Maybe you could throw in North Carolina and Louisville but they have been playing very inconsistent this season so you really didn't know if they would show up ready to play or continue to play inconsistent. But the ACC is 11-1 thus far in the NCAA Tournament. There was plenty of upsets that happened this past weekend some people expected and some that just basically ruined most people brackets. No matter how hard you try to pick the upset games in the bracket challenge majority of the time people rarely get them right. Let's get started with the biggest upset of the weekend with NC State beating Villanova. Most people didn't even think NC State would get past LSU in the second round but, NC State proved everyone wrong. Not only did they make it out the second round but they also made it out the third round this past Saturday by beating Villanova which advances them to the sweet 16. NC State beat Villanova in a nail biter 71 to 68. NC State was lead by freshman player Abdul-Malik Adu who had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Lennard Freeman also was a big part of the NC State win had 11 points and 12 rebounds. The guard play from NC State was phenomenal Trevor Lacey had 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Anthony "cat" Barber had 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. NC State will play Louisville in the Sweet 16.

The next big upset was the 1 loss an ACC team has had. 7 seed Michigan State upset 2 seed Virginia 60-54. But, that upset isn't very shocking since Virginia has been struggling through their last few games. Also Justin Anderson hasn't been playing to well after coming back from his broken finger injury. Travis Trice was a big part to why Michigan State beat Virginia he had 23 points and 3 assists. Branden Dawson also contributed to the upset win by Michigan State he had 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Notre Dame won a nail biter against Butler this past Saturday night in overtime. The final score was 67 to 64. Notre Dame won because of their strong guard play. Steve Vasturia had 20 points, and 6 rebounds. Jerian Grant had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Demetrius Jackson had 13 points, and 2 assists. Notre Dame will play Wichita Sate this Thursday in the Sweet 16.

Louisville was able to take care of Northern Iowa last night. Louisville won 66 to 53. Louisville was lead by strong play from Terry Rozier who had 25 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Montrezl Harrell had 14 points, and 6 rebounds. Wayne Blackshear also contributed in the win with 10 points, and 6 rebounds. Quentin Snider had 10 points, and 4 rebounds. As I said earlier Louisville will play NC State in the Sweet 16 this Friday.

The North Carolina Tar Heels took care of Arkansas this past Saturday. North Carolina won 87 to 78. The Tar Heels were lead by Point Guard Marcus Paige who had 22 points, and 6 rebounds. Justin Jackson had 16 points, and 3 rebounds. J.P. Tokoto had 13 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Brice Johnson had 7 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists. Nate Britt had 10 points, and 4 rebounds. Kennedy Meeks had 9 points, and 4 rebounds. North Carolina will play Wisconsin in the Sweet 16 this  Thursday night.

Last but not least is the best the team out of the ACC Conference is the Duke Blue Devils. Duke beat San Diego State yesterday 68 to 49. Duke was lead by freshman standout Jahlil Okafor who had 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Justice Winslow also contributed with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. Quinn Cook had 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Tyus Jones had a quiet game but he had 6 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds. Duke will play Utah in the Sweet 16 this Friday night. We will see if these ACC Teams can continue to advance to the Elite 8 only time will tell.

Villanova Makes A Statement

A lot of people feel like the Villanova Wildcats shouldn't be a number #1 seed and feel like they are the likeliest number #1 seed to lose first. Commentators have been saying Villanova doesn't have a go to player and doesn't see them going to far in the tournament.Well Villanova showed the world yesterday why they were seeded as a number #1 seed. I guess Villanova got tired of people talking about how they shouldn't  be a number #1 seed and it looked like they took their frustration out on Lafayette. It looked like Lafayette shouldn't even have showed up for that game  because they got beat badly.

those who love to see upsets early in tournament the Villanova-Lafayette game wasn't the one to watch then. Villanova cruised past Lafayette last night winning 93-52. The only other team who scored 93 last night was the Arizona Wildcats. Villanova played great defense causing 15 turnovers and were able to score inside the post and behind the three point line. Villanova was able to hit 11 three point shots lead by Ryan Arcidiacono & Dylan Ennis both players hit 3 threes a piece.

Dylan Ennis had 16 points and 5 assist. Ryan Arcidiacono had 13 points, and 6 assists. Daniel Ochefu had 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. JayVaughn Pinkston had 12 points, and 6 rebounds. Darrun Hillard had 12 points, 3 assists, and  3 steals. Kris Jenkins had 10 points. Phil Booth had 9 points. Villanova had 6 players in double figures. If last night game doesn't show that Villanova is a dominant team I don't know what will. The only bright spots for Lafayette were Ben Freeland who had 18 points, and 9 rebounds & Seth Hinrichs who had 13 points, and 4 assist. Next up for Villanova will be NC State tomorrow night at 7:10 PM Eastern. We will see if Villanova can keep this run to the championship alive.

Greg Hardy Decides On Dallas Over Tampa Bay

Today Greg Hardy will make a decision on whether he will play for the Dallas Cowboys or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rumors are that Tampa Bay has lost interest in Greg Hardy and have pulled out of negotiations. So everything is pointed to him signing with Dallas Cowboys. Hardy met with Dallas yesterday afternoon and stayed in Dallas for the night. Word going around is the meeting between Dallas and Hardy went well and both sides were interested in each other. This afternoon Greg Hardy signed with Dallas for 1 year with a deal up to 13.1 million dollars.

For those of you who don't know who Greg Hardy is he is a defensive end from University of Mississippi who has played 5 years in the league all with the Carolina Panthers. Greg Hardy played only one game last season because he was on the commissioner's exempt list for a domestic violence case against his girlfriend. But those domestic charges were dismissed last month since they couldn't find the girlfriend for her to testify. Greg Hardy can still face suspension for the domestic violence charges for this upcoming season. Rumors are going around that he could be suspended up to 6 games for the 2015-2016 season.

In Greg Hardy's 5 year career he has had 34 sacks and 204 tackles. Greg Hardy is a beast at rushing the quarterback he gives quarterbacks nightmares. If it wasn't for the off field issues Greg Hardy probably would have been signed within the first week of free agency. He was by far one of the best defensive players in free agency probably only behind Ndamukong Suh. Dallas is a good fit for Hardy because Dallas always turns player's with a troubled past and turns them around and revives their career. If Hardy plays the way he usually plays and stays out of trouble he could be the pass rusher that Dallas needed to make a championship run.
