Wisconsin-Kentucky Final 4 rematch

With both Kentucky and Wisconsin winning this weekend in the elite 8 they both advanced to the final 4. Wisconsin gets the rematch they been wanting. They were left last year around this time with a bitter feeling losing 74 to 73 Kentucky in last year's final four. Kentucky won from a game winning shot from Aaron Harrison. But some of their key players from that last year's Kentucky team went to the NBA such as Julius Randle, and James Young.

However last year around this time Kentucky didn't have their lock down post defender in Willie Cauley-Stein so that should help them. Also they still have the Harrison twins back and star freshman players Trey Lyles and Karl-Anthony Towns. Karl-Anthony Towns basically picked apart the Notre Dame defense he basically did whatever he wanted to do finishing with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. But that will be a different story when they play Wisconsin Frank Kaminsky will not let him have his way in the post. So Kentucky will need their guard play from the Harrison twins, Devin Booker, and Tyler Ulis to step up.

The one thing going in the Wisconsin Badgers favor is majority of the team that went to last year's final four will play in this year's final four. So this team already knows what to expect in this final four game. Wisconsin has a lot more experience then the Kentucky team and that could be a key factor in them beating Kentucky this Saturday night. Another factor to Wisconsin beating Kentucky is an improved Frank Kaminsky who had just scored 8 points in last year's final four game vs. Kentucky. This year Frank Kaminsky is a finalist for the National Player of the Year he has improved drastically. Frank Kaminsky had 29 points and 6 rebounds against Arizona he's been having a phenomenal season and it has continued in the NCAA Tournament. Karl-Anthony Towns & Willie Cauley-Stein will have their hands full guarding him. Sam Dekker had another phenomenal game and had 27 points and 5 rebounds. I don't see Lyles locking down Dekker look for Dekker to have another 25 or more type game. Bu the main piece for Wisconsin to pull off the upset over Kentucky is Nigel Hayes he must help slow down Karl Anthony-Towns as well get rebounds on the defensive end to keep Kentucky from getting second chance points and score 8 or points on the offensive side. We will see who will prevail on Saturday Night to go to the National Championship game.

Kentucky Humbles Daxter Miles

After the West Virginia-Maryland game last weekend during the after game press conference a reporter asked Daxter Miles, Jr. what he  thought their chances were against Kentucky.  Miles said,  " I Salute them to getting to 36-0 but tomorrow they will be 36-1". That was a very bold statement  especially to a team in some games that looks like they can beat some NBA teams. Kentucky already had enough fuel to the fire to win a national champ and finish the season undefeated.  Daxter Miles added unnecessary fuel by making that idiotic comment that they will send Kentucky home and end their chances of having an undefeated season.

Kentucky showed Miles & West Virginia why they were undefeated going up 20 to 2 on West Virginia within the first 5 minutes of the game.  Kentucky made West Virginia look like middle school kids. West Virginia couldn't get nothing going against that great defense from Kentucky. West Virginia was only able to shoot 24.1 percent from the field. Nothing went right for West Virginia last night.

Kentucky beat West Virginia 78-39. All that trash talking from Daxter Miles, Jr. he sure didn't back it up he didn't score a single basket going 0/3 from the field and 0/2 from the free throw line. Trey Lyles had 14 points and 7 rebounds. The Harrison twins combined for 25 points. Willie Cauley-Stein had 8 points and 10 rebounds. Dakari Johnson had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Devin Booker had 12 points and 4 rebounds. I bet Daxter Miles won't run his mouth like that again.

Dwight Howard Returns

Dwight Howard returns tonight to play against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing 26 games from a knee injury. The Houston Rockets have been 17-9 without Howard. Rumors have said that Dwight Howard told James Harden don't change up your play because I'm back. We will see if Howard sticks to his word because James Harden had been playing phenomenal since Howard has been out and making a case to why he should win MVP.  The Rockets are currently the number 3 seed in the Western Conference playoff race. James Harden has been averaging 27.2 points per game.

Before Dwight Howard got injured he was averaging 16.3 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, and 1.4 blocks per game. The Rockets are projected to start Dwight Howard at the Center position but will play limited minutes.  Sources say Dwight Howard will play about 14-16 minutes in tonight's game. Howard sure picked the wrong game to come back off injury because he has to face young stud Anthony Davis who is having a breakout season. But the one thing Howard & Davis have in common this season are they both have been having trouble to stay healthy and has had to sit out games due to injuries.

The return of Dwight Howard can go either way for the Houston Rockets. The return could either help the Rockets and help them make that playoff push for that #2 seed in which they are 2.5 games back from the Memphis Grizzlies. Or the return of Dwight Howard can affect the chemistry in a negative way and possibly have them go on a losing streak and push them back to the 4th seed. Hopefully the return of Dwight Howard doesn't clog up the driving lane for James Harden or Trevor Ariza.  We will see tonight what the return of Dwight Howard means for the Houston Rockets.

ACC Dominating NCAA Tournament

No one expected the ACC to be this strong in the NCAA Tournament outside of Duke, Notre Dame, and Virginia. Maybe you could throw in North Carolina and Louisville but they have been playing very inconsistent this season so you really didn't know if they would show up ready to play or continue to play inconsistent. But the ACC is 11-1 thus far in the NCAA Tournament. There was plenty of upsets that happened this past weekend some people expected and some that just basically ruined most people brackets. No matter how hard you try to pick the upset games in the bracket challenge majority of the time people rarely get them right. Let's get started with the biggest upset of the weekend with NC State beating Villanova. Most people didn't even think NC State would get past LSU in the second round but, NC State proved everyone wrong. Not only did they make it out the second round but they also made it out the third round this past Saturday by beating Villanova which advances them to the sweet 16. NC State beat Villanova in a nail biter 71 to 68. NC State was lead by freshman player Abdul-Malik Adu who had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Lennard Freeman also was a big part of the NC State win had 11 points and 12 rebounds. The guard play from NC State was phenomenal Trevor Lacey had 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Anthony "cat" Barber had 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. NC State will play Louisville in the Sweet 16.

The next big upset was the 1 loss an ACC team has had. 7 seed Michigan State upset 2 seed Virginia 60-54. But, that upset isn't very shocking since Virginia has been struggling through their last few games. Also Justin Anderson hasn't been playing to well after coming back from his broken finger injury. Travis Trice was a big part to why Michigan State beat Virginia he had 23 points and 3 assists. Branden Dawson also contributed to the upset win by Michigan State he had 15 points and 9 rebounds.

Notre Dame won a nail biter against Butler this past Saturday night in overtime. The final score was 67 to 64. Notre Dame won because of their strong guard play. Steve Vasturia had 20 points, and 6 rebounds. Jerian Grant had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Demetrius Jackson had 13 points, and 2 assists. Notre Dame will play Wichita Sate this Thursday in the Sweet 16.

Louisville was able to take care of Northern Iowa last night. Louisville won 66 to 53. Louisville was lead by strong play from Terry Rozier who had 25 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Montrezl Harrell had 14 points, and 6 rebounds. Wayne Blackshear also contributed in the win with 10 points, and 6 rebounds. Quentin Snider had 10 points, and 4 rebounds. As I said earlier Louisville will play NC State in the Sweet 16 this Friday.

The North Carolina Tar Heels took care of Arkansas this past Saturday. North Carolina won 87 to 78. The Tar Heels were lead by Point Guard Marcus Paige who had 22 points, and 6 rebounds. Justin Jackson had 16 points, and 3 rebounds. J.P. Tokoto had 13 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds. Brice Johnson had 7 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists. Nate Britt had 10 points, and 4 rebounds. Kennedy Meeks had 9 points, and 4 rebounds. North Carolina will play Wisconsin in the Sweet 16 this  Thursday night.

Last but not least is the best the team out of the ACC Conference is the Duke Blue Devils. Duke beat San Diego State yesterday 68 to 49. Duke was lead by freshman standout Jahlil Okafor who had 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Justice Winslow also contributed with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. Quinn Cook had 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Tyus Jones had a quiet game but he had 6 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds. Duke will play Utah in the Sweet 16 this Friday night. We will see if these ACC Teams can continue to advance to the Elite 8 only time will tell.

Villanova Makes A Statement

A lot of people feel like the Villanova Wildcats shouldn't be a number #1 seed and feel like they are the likeliest number #1 seed to lose first. Commentators have been saying Villanova doesn't have a go to player and doesn't see them going to far in the tournament.Well Villanova showed the world yesterday why they were seeded as a number #1 seed. I guess Villanova got tired of people talking about how they shouldn't  be a number #1 seed and it looked like they took their frustration out on Lafayette. It looked like Lafayette shouldn't even have showed up for that game  because they got beat badly.

those who love to see upsets early in tournament the Villanova-Lafayette game wasn't the one to watch then. Villanova cruised past Lafayette last night winning 93-52. The only other team who scored 93 last night was the Arizona Wildcats. Villanova played great defense causing 15 turnovers and were able to score inside the post and behind the three point line. Villanova was able to hit 11 three point shots lead by Ryan Arcidiacono & Dylan Ennis both players hit 3 threes a piece.

Dylan Ennis had 16 points and 5 assist. Ryan Arcidiacono had 13 points, and 6 assists. Daniel Ochefu had 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. JayVaughn Pinkston had 12 points, and 6 rebounds. Darrun Hillard had 12 points, 3 assists, and  3 steals. Kris Jenkins had 10 points. Phil Booth had 9 points. Villanova had 6 players in double figures. If last night game doesn't show that Villanova is a dominant team I don't know what will. The only bright spots for Lafayette were Ben Freeland who had 18 points, and 9 rebounds & Seth Hinrichs who had 13 points, and 4 assist. Next up for Villanova will be NC State tomorrow night at 7:10 PM Eastern. We will see if Villanova can keep this run to the championship alive.

Greg Hardy Decides On Dallas Over Tampa Bay

Today Greg Hardy will make a decision on whether he will play for the Dallas Cowboys or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rumors are that Tampa Bay has lost interest in Greg Hardy and have pulled out of negotiations. So everything is pointed to him signing with Dallas Cowboys. Hardy met with Dallas yesterday afternoon and stayed in Dallas for the night. Word going around is the meeting between Dallas and Hardy went well and both sides were interested in each other. This afternoon Greg Hardy signed with Dallas for 1 year with a deal up to 13.1 million dollars.

For those of you who don't know who Greg Hardy is he is a defensive end from University of Mississippi who has played 5 years in the league all with the Carolina Panthers. Greg Hardy played only one game last season because he was on the commissioner's exempt list for a domestic violence case against his girlfriend. But those domestic charges were dismissed last month since they couldn't find the girlfriend for her to testify. Greg Hardy can still face suspension for the domestic violence charges for this upcoming season. Rumors are going around that he could be suspended up to 6 games for the 2015-2016 season.

In Greg Hardy's 5 year career he has had 34 sacks and 204 tackles. Greg Hardy is a beast at rushing the quarterback he gives quarterbacks nightmares. If it wasn't for the off field issues Greg Hardy probably would have been signed within the first week of free agency. He was by far one of the best defensive players in free agency probably only behind Ndamukong Suh. Dallas is a good fit for Hardy because Dallas always turns player's with a troubled past and turns them around and revives their career. If Hardy plays the way he usually plays and stays out of trouble he could be the pass rusher that Dallas needed to make a championship run.

Hampton Wins MEAC Championship and Advances to NCAA Tournament

With Delaware State beating the number #1 seed in the MEAC in NCCU Friday night and Hampton beating the #2 seed Friday night in the MEAC in Norfolk State. Everything was going right for Hampton and it was looking like they will make another appearance to the NCAA Tournament. Hampton got hot at the right time in March and showed the true meaning of March Madness. They were a force to be reckoned with in the MEAC Tournament. Hampton won 4 games in 6 days.

Hampton beat Delaware State yesterday 75 to 64 in the MEAC Championship. Reginald Johnson and Brian Darden each had 20 a piece for Hampton which was a big reason why they won. Deron Powers contributed as well with 16 points. They also slowed down the number 6 scorer in the country in Amere May he finished with 20 points. But, in the first half he only scored 5 points. Delaware State other score Tyshawn Bell had just 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Now Hampton Men's Basketball is waiting for Selection Sunday that comes on CBS at 6 PM Eastern  today to see who they play in the NCAA Tournament. They haven't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2011. No one expected them to make it to NCAA Tournament but they beat the odds. They're going into the tournament with nothing to lose and their is nothing more dangerous then playing a team in the NCAA Tournament that has nothing to lose because usually that is when an upset happens. We will soon find out if Hampton can keep the streak alive in the NCAA Tournament.

Duke Routs NC State in Quarterfinal of ACC Tournament

On Sports betting websites Duke was a 8.5 favorite to beat NC State. But nobody knew Duke would beat them that bad because this seemed like a good match up. Especially since on January 11th NC State handed Duke it's first loss beating them 87-75. So even though NC State was not ranked everyone knew they were no pushover and they should't be considered an easy opponent to play. Last night was a different story though NC State struggled to score against Duke. Duke beat NC State last night 77-53.

Duke had NC State number yesterday and the scoreboard showed it. What's shocking is not one player on Duke scored over 15 but they still were able to rout NC State. This shows the depth Duke has on his roster and how anyone on their team can go off at any given moment. The Duke Blue Devils are clicking at the right time in mid march the week before the NCAA Tournament starts. They're showing that their ready to go deep in the NCAA Tournament and possibly win the National Championship.

NC State guard Ralston Turner had game high with 16 points. Quinn Cook scored the most for Duke with 15 points. Tyus Jones the freshman point guard standout had 7 points to go along with 8 assists. Justice Winslow had 11 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Jahlil Okafor had 10 points and 4 rebounds. Matt Jones had 11 points. But the big bright spot was the play from Marshall Plumlee and Grayson Allen.  The reason these two players were a bright spot for Duke yesterday is because they hardly give Duke any production to say the least but last night they gave them production and then some.  Marshall Plumlee had 12 points and 3 blocks. Plumlee's average stats per game this season is 2.3 points per game,2.4 rebounds per game, and 0.3 assists per game, Grayson Allen had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. Grayson Allen average stats per game this season are 4,3 points per game, 0.9 rebounds per game, and 0.5 assists per game. Duke will play Notre Dame tonight in the ACC Semifinal game at 9 PM eastern on ESPN.

DeMarco Murray to Visit The Eagles Today

With all the big named free agents being signed day 1 the only big name free agent still available is DeMarco Murray. The Dallas Cowboys have been disciplined in sticking to their plan and not overpaying for an injury prone running back. This past season is the first season where DeMarco Murray played a full season. The previous other 3 years he always was injured and sat out some games. DeMarco Murray wants 6 or more million dollars per year deal. The Cowboys offered him a 5 million per year deal which I think is very generous considering this past season was his first healthy season in his 4 year career in the NFL.

DeMarco Murray may have had a career year this past season where he had rushed for 1,825 yards and 13 touchdowns. But the main reason why DeMarco Murray had such a good year was because of that physical offensive line lead by Doug Free, Zach Martin, Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, and Ronald Leary. The Dallas Cowboys offensive line was the best offensive line in the NFL. The Eagles on the other hand have a suspect offensive line that is nowhere near as good as the Cowboys offensive line and never will be. Even as good as Murray is to make defenders miss in open field he still needs a decent offensive line to block defenders in order for him to have a hole to run through.

Honestly I think he is just visiting with the Eagles to make the Cowboys sweat and get them to offer him more money. But, I  believe Dallas will still stick to their starting price considering they're rumored to be looking for other free agent running backs out on the market. So it seems like the Cowboys are ready to move on without Murray. Some people thought the Cowboys should of franchised tag DeMarco Murray instead of Dez Bryant but running backs are a dime a dozen you can't replace Dez Bryant he is one of a kind. Besides the Cowboys can draft a running back like Todd Gurley or Melvin Gordon that can replace DeMarco Murray if they decide not to overpay for a running back in free agency.

Colts Steal Gore From Eagles

Last Sunday Frank Gore said he will be signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday at 4 PM eastern when the free agents were eligible to sign with whatever team they wanted. But then Jeremy Maclin went and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs to be reunited with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid. When Eagles lost their one deep threat wide receiver in Maclin to free agency that made Frank Gore hesitant to sign with the Eagles. Gore felt like there would be more burden on him in the offense and the defense will focus more on him because they don't have a deep threat wide receiver. Gore told a friend that he was also concerned about the overbearing approach Chip Kelly has and that he heard the uptempo practices were issues for veterans who wanted to rest their body during the week. With Gore being a hard nosed running back throughout his career you can see where he saw the problem of not being able to rest during the week.

Frank Gore is now rumored to be signing with the Indianapolis Colts basically for the same amount of money he would of got with the Eagles. The deal is for 3 years worth 12 million dollars with 7.5 million dollars guaranteed. Gore feels more comfortable with the Colts because they do have a deep threat wide receiver in T.Y. Hilton which will not have the defense all eyes on Gore because they will have to pay attention to T.Y. as well. Also the quarterback situation with the Colts is much better then the Eagles Andrew Luck skill set is 20 times better then Nick Foles he runs circles around him. Plus the Colts could also be signing veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson so the Colts right now seem to more of championship contender then the Eagles. With Frank Gore being 31 going into his 10th season the only thing on his mind is winning a championship and the Colts are the best fit for him to accomplish that goal.

The Colts are getting a very good veteran running back in Frank Gore. Frank Gore has rushed for 11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns in the 9 seasons he's been playing in the NFL. This past season Gore has rushed for 1,106 yards and 4 touchdowns. Those numbers are pretty good for a veteran running back especially when he was in a pass dominant offense. Also the Colts are getting a veteran leader in their locker room that can mentor the younger running backs in the locker room such as Trent Richardson and Dan Herron.

Revis Island to Test Free Agency

After Revis coming to the Patriots this past season where he helped the New England Patriots win another Super Bowl. New England decided to decline 20 million dollars option for next season this makes Revis a free agent at 4 PM eastern on Tuesday. The New England Patriots just resigned safety Devin McCourty to a five year 47.5 million dollars. So with that move being made that's less money to spend on future hall of famer corner back Darrelle Revis. New England needs to find a way to resign Revis he was a  key contributor to the Patriots Super Bowl run.

Darrelle Revis had 47 tackles, and 2 interceptions this past season. Let's not forget he's the type of corner back that can shutdown that whole side of the field he's covering on down. Revis didn't get the nickname Revis Island for no reason. In Revis 8 year career he has had 391 tackles, 23 interceptions, 3 touchdowns, and 2 sacks. Now he has a Super Bowl championship under his belt as well. Revis has showed year after year that even though it may may cost your organization a lot of money to get the lock down corner back Revis is worth the money.

If Revis hits the free agency on Tuesday at 4 PM eastern there are rumors that he could go back to be reunited the New York Jets. Darrelle Revis will no doubt be the best corner back on the free agency market. Revis will get a lot of interest from other teams around the NFL. Hope the Patriots know what they may lose because I'm sure teams are going to try and break the bank to sign a star corner back like Revis to their team. So the Patriots better figure out a way to free up some cap space so they resign him and not lose him.

Maxwell to Eagles

After trading away LeSean McCoy Eagles were looking like they were just making moves off of impulse. But, now the move of trading LeSean McCoy is starting to make sense especially when they now had 40 million dollars to spend in this year free agency. On Tuesday at 4 PM eastern free agency can start to sign free agents.  The Eagles already have one free agent ready to sign on Tuesday and that is Byron Maxwell. Byron Maxwell was one of the best corner backs out on the free agent market. The Eagles needed big help in the secondary this was a smart move for the Eagles.

Byron Maxwell deal with the Philadelphia Eagles is for 6 years worth 63 million dollars and 25 million of it is guaranteed. For those of you who don't know who Byron Maxwell is he has played for LOB aka the Seattle Seahawks since his rookie season in 2011. In 2013 he got his start in the NFL for the final 5 games of the season and he made the most of it by having 28 tackles, 4 interceptions, 12 pass deflections, and a forced fumble. This past season Maxwell started 12 games on the opposite side of Richard Sherman where he had 39 tackles, 2 interceptions, 12 pass deflections and a forced fumble. He was a lock down defender the pass two seasons.

The Eagles pass defense should become much better then they were this past season where they finished 31st. With Maxwell the Eagles have one of the best lock down corners in the league this should help them tremendously. Now they have a defender that could at least halfway slow down the top wide receivers in the NFC East like Dez Bryant, DeSean Jackson, and Odell Beckham Jr. Now all they have to is either get another corner back in free agency or in the draft that can play the opposite side of Maxwell. They have several options in free agency at the corner back position such as Antonio Cromartie, Darrelle Revis, Tramon Williams and aging but still talented corner Ike Taylor.

Marshall to Jets

Brandon Marshall has been traded to New York Jets. There have been rumors that the Bears have been looking to trade Marshall before Tuesday. The new GM was intent upon making changes to the Bears organization Marshall was one of those changes he had interests from the Bills, Browns, and Colts. But the Jets are the team that made the best offer for Brandon Marshall. This move takes one of Jay Cutler favorite weapons from him. This could be a sign that Cutler is also on his way out of Chicago as well. Chicago Bears seems like they are going into rebuild mode if you ask me.

The Chicago Bears get a fifth round pick for this year's draft from the New York Jets in exchange for Brandon Marshall. Basically the Jets got Marshall for nothing basically a steal for them. The Chicago Bears save 7.5 million dollars in cap space for next season by trading Brandon Marshall. Maybe the Bears made that move to free up some cap to go after one of those big  name wide receiver free agents. The Bears have numerous of big name wide receivers to go after such as Randall Cobb, Jeremy Maclin, and Michael Crabtree. They could even go after Wes Welker or Andre Johnson if he gets released by Houston.

Brandon Marshall had 61 receptions for 721 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. He had career lows in receptions and receiving yards but that wasn't all his fault. We have to remember he missed 3 games due to a collapsed lung that happened in week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys. He was targeted only 23% per route he ran Cutler wasn't getting him the ball as much as he use too. I think if the Jets draft Marcus Mariota with the 6th pick in this years NFL draft the Jets can be a team to be reckoned with in the AFC. Mariota and Marshall will be a good one two punch. The Jets move to get Marshall pretty much shows they're ready to part ways with Percy Harvin. It will be very shocking if Harvin is on the Jets roster next season.

NFL Legend Takes Pay Cut

An NFL Legend takes a pay cut so his team can have some money to spend in free agency to get more star players on their team. The NFL Legend I am talking about is Peyton Manning. Their were rumors that if Peyton Manning didn't agree to take a pay cut they would release him. I think that would be stupid considering their are no quarterbacks in the free agency pool and their draft pick is too late to find a quarterback that could just a little bit fill Peyton Manning shoes. Their backup quarterback was Brock Osweiler he has only thrown for 159 yards throwing and 1 touchdown  in the three seasons he has been in the league.

Peyton Manning took a 4 million dollar pay cut. This now frees up 4 million dollars for them to spend during free agency to go get Peyton Manning more weapons or get another weapon on the defensive side. Manning can get that 4 million back by reaching some incentives and one of those incentives is making the Super Bowl. But in order for the 4 million pay cut to be finalized Peyton must pass his physical. This 4 million can help them sign back Julius Thomas one of Manning's favorite weapons.

Or they can use that 4 million to resign back defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. For those who doesn't know who Knighton is he had 30 tackles and 2 sacks last season. Knighton is a very key part to that Denver Broncos defense. If Denver loses him their defensive line will not be as strong as it was last year. This pay cut taken by Peyton Manning shows how much a class act he is and is willing to take a pay cut in order to get players that could help him win his second Super Bowl.

McCoy Traded to The Buffalo Bills

Tuesday night the Philadelphia Eagles started the football frenzy before March 10. The Philadelphia Eagles traded LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso. This trade left not only Eagles fans in shock but everyone across the country in shock. No one would ever think they will trade their star running back for a linebacker who is just coming off a torn ACL injury which made him miss the whole season this year. The Eagles have been making some questionable decisions these past few days by not franchise tagging Jeremy Maclin, releasing Trent Cole, Cary Williams, and now trading away LeSean McCoy.

LeSean McCoy is a very explosive running back and will make not only the first man miss in the backfield but the second, third, and fourth man miss then break for about 20 yards. The Eagles really are going to miss the play of McCoy. McCoy rushed for 1,319 yards this year and 5 touchdowns. His numbers may have dropped from his 2013 season where he rushed for 1,607 and 9 touchdowns. But, that still wasn't a reason why they should trade him. They now have to rely on Chris Polk and Darren Sproles which is a significant downgrade from McCoy.

Now the Eagles will have to look for a running back in free agency or the NFL draft that can halfway makeup for the loss of LeSean McCoy. Some of the reasons the Eagles are making all these moves are they probably are looking to resign Maclin to a big deal or looking to sign a big name free agent during the free agency period which starts March 10th. Some people are probably still trying to figure out who is Kirk Alonso well he is a linebacker from the University of Oregon that is going into his third year in the NFL. In 2013 he won the Defensive Rookie of the Year recording 159 tackles. Alonso 159 tackles during the 2013 season was the third most in tackles that season. Those numbers sound good but that was before the torn ACL injury the question is how will that knee hold up during off season training and when the season actually starts only time will tell.

Andre Johnson Wants Out of Houston

Andre Johnson has spent his whole 12 year career playing for the Houston Texans. He has always been the focal point of the Houston Texans. Andre Johnson has told the Houston Texans on Monday that he wants to either get traded or released from the Houston . Andre was told by coach Bill O'Brien that he would have a reduced role next season. In my mind that doesn't make any sense considering how much a deep threat Andre Johnson has always been. Andre Johnson had 85 catches for 936 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

Now those numbers may not sound too good but having Ryan Fitzpatrick as your quarterback those numbers are remarkable considering how inconsistent Ryan Fitzpatrick is. In his 12 years as a Houston Texans Andre Johnson has 1,012 receptions,13,597 receiving yards, and 64 touchdowns. Andre Johnson is the Houston Texans all-time leading receiver in yards, receptions, and touchdowns. The Houston Texans will be losing a great player that revamped their franchise and will be huge loss for them. It's clear Andre Johnson wants to play for a contender and it's clear Houston is not a contender. The Houston Texans has only made it to the playoffs twice in Andre Johnson 12 year career in Houston.

The Houston Texans will likely release Andre Johnson because no team probably wants to take on that costly contract. I'm sure Andre Johnson wouldn't want to restructure that deal unless that team he gets traded to is a legit contender. Andre is owed 10.5 million dollars in the 2015 season and 11 million dollars in 2016 before coming a free agent for the 2017 season. So most teams will wait for him to get released then go after him instead of taking on taking that costly contract. But if Houston Texans was smart they will wait until a team makes them an offer and get some draft picks or other players rather then let a star wide receiver like Andre Johnson walk for free and get nothing in return.

Franchise Tag Not Used On Suh

The deadline for NFL teams to use a franchise tag on one of their big name players to prevent them from becoming a free agent ends today.Putting a franchise tag on a player could be very risky some players will understand that the team didn't have the money to resign them to a big deal at the time so they will have to wait until the following off season. Some players will feel offended if they got franchised tag because either they wanted to test free agency and see how much money they could get or feel upset that their organization didn't want to pay them the big time deal after the good season they had. A lot of NFL teams have already franchised tag their big name players. Anyone with some common sense would think the Detroit Lions would franchise tag Suh after the season he had. Ndamukong Suh had 8.5 sacks and 53 tackles. Suh was the main reason why Detroit had the top defensive line in the league that gave quarterbacks and running backs nightmares each game.

You probably asking yourself why haven't the Detroit Lions decided to franchise tag Suh well your about to find out. If the Detroit Lions had franchised tag Ndamukong Suh they would have owed him 26.9 million dollars next season which is ridiculous. But even as ridiculous as how much it would cost to pay him his play on the field shows he deserves that 26.9 million dollars. Maybe his maturity and dirty plays in some games could be the reason why Suh wasn't franchised tag but the right mentor ship could help mature him. If the Lions lose Suh in free agency I hope they target a defensive tackle in the NFL draft this year.

But honestly with the Detroit Lions not franchise tagging Ndamukong Suh could be the best thing that happened to Suh. The Lions always had a chance to go deep to go in the playoffs but always found away to mess it up. So now Suh has a decision to make either go look for the biggest paying deal from an NFL team or look to take a pay cut and play for a contender. In my eyes I think he wants to play for a contender and finally win a championship. But if he wants to sign a big deal I'm sure the contract he would receive will make him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL even be worth more then JJ Watt 6 year 100 million dollar deal.
