Trouble in Pittsburgh
Yesterday, the Steelers finalized Le’Veon Bell will not be playing week 1, against the Cleveland Browns. Although Le’Veon, said in the off-season he will not be playing on the franchise tag again, and if the Steelers offered him another franchise tag contract, he would sit out.
The Steelers must have thought he was bluffing. Le’Veon teammates took to social media yesterday, to show their disapproval of Le’Veon decision.
Maurkice Pouncey stated, “Why play hide and seek? Why let your agent say this? Just man up and tell us what you’re going to do.”
Ramon Foster followed by saying, “He’s making seven times what I make, twice as much as Villanueva is making, and we’re the guys that do it for him.”
It sounds like some hating, is going on in the Steelers Organization. The sad part is both Foster and Pouncey are NFLPA reps. They should be backing their fellow teammate in getting paid, instead of bashing him publicly.
This is why the NBA, will always be light years ahead of the NFL.
The Le’Veon situation shows you the “NFL is a business” only applies to the owner, GM, etc. The moment a player makes a business decision, involving more money in a contract they become greedy and selfish. Seems like a double standard to me.
Le’Veon Bell has rushed for 5,336 yards, ran for 35 touchdowns, caught 2,660 receiving yards, and caught seven touchdowns in five seasons.
Why wouldn’t you want to pay a running back as versatile and healthy as Bell?
