Bryce Harper Joins Forces with the Philadelphia Phillies




Yesterday afternoon, Bryce Harper signed a 13 year/$330 million dollar deal. That's roughly $25.4 million dollars per season. The last deal that huge was Giancarlo Stanton 13 year/$325 million dollar deal with the Miami Marlins. Harper took the Phillies offer, over the San Diego Padres offer 12 year/$310 million dollar deal, and an estimated offer from the Los Angeles Dodgers for 4 years/ $180 million dollar deal.

Bryce Harper has a no-trade clause and a no opt-out clause. Bryce made it clear, he wants to end his career with the Philadelphia Phillies. With Bryce Harper joining the Phillies their championship odds jumped from 14-1 to 10-1.

Bryce Harper, throughout 50 career games, at Citizen Bank, has hit exceptionally well. Harper has batted/.268/.365/.564 with 14 home runs, five doubles, three triples, and 32 RBIs. Harper stated that was one of the main reasons he signed with the Phillies.

Throughout his career, Harper has batted .279, 922 career hits, 184 home runs, and 521 RBIs. He has won the MVP award three times, Rookie of the Year, and has made the All-star team six times.

We will soon see how Bryce Harper and the Phillies work out. The Major League Baseball season will start on March 20.
