Baltimore Ravens Bolster Defensive Line with Calais Campbell Trade

Earlier today the Jacksonville Jaguars traded Pro Bowl Defensive End Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2020 5th round pick.

Over the last two seasons, Calais Campbell had a total of 17 sacks. In the past two out of three seasons, he has averaged at least 10 or more sacks per season.

This a very vital edition to the Baltimore Ravens defensive line who only had one player who has averaged more than 1 sack in the 2019 NFL season which was Chris Wormley.

Matt Judon who averaged 9.5 sacks this past season was a linebacker.

Tyus Bowser also a linebacker had 5 sacks this past season.

Most of the Baltimore Ravens sacks came from their linebacker core.

Calais Campbell will add the dynamic force this defensive line desperately needs, this Baltimore Ravens defense should add even more pressure on opposing Quarterbacks in the 2020 season, which will lead to even more interceptions by ball hawks Earl Thomas, Marlon Humphrey, and Marcus Peters.

This was an outstanding move by the Baltimore Ravens and even was able to restructure the Calais Campbell deal for two years for $27 million. $20 of that 27 million is guaranteed.

We will soon see how this deal turns out for the Baltimore Ravens.
