Dwight Howard Returns

Dwight Howard returns tonight to play against the New Orleans Pelicans after missing 26 games from a knee injury. The Houston Rockets have been 17-9 without Howard. Rumors have said that Dwight Howard told James Harden don't change up your play because I'm back. We will see if Howard sticks to his word because James Harden had been playing phenomenal since Howard has been out and making a case to why he should win MVP.  The Rockets are currently the number 3 seed in the Western Conference playoff race. James Harden has been averaging 27.2 points per game.

Before Dwight Howard got injured he was averaging 16.3 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, and 1.4 blocks per game. The Rockets are projected to start Dwight Howard at the Center position but will play limited minutes.  Sources say Dwight Howard will play about 14-16 minutes in tonight's game. Howard sure picked the wrong game to come back off injury because he has to face young stud Anthony Davis who is having a breakout season. But the one thing Howard & Davis have in common this season are they both have been having trouble to stay healthy and has had to sit out games due to injuries.

The return of Dwight Howard can go either way for the Houston Rockets. The return could either help the Rockets and help them make that playoff push for that #2 seed in which they are 2.5 games back from the Memphis Grizzlies. Or the return of Dwight Howard can affect the chemistry in a negative way and possibly have them go on a losing streak and push them back to the 4th seed. Hopefully the return of Dwight Howard doesn't clog up the driving lane for James Harden or Trevor Ariza.  We will see tonight what the return of Dwight Howard means for the Houston Rockets.
