Colts Steal Gore From Eagles

Last Sunday Frank Gore said he will be signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday at 4 PM eastern when the free agents were eligible to sign with whatever team they wanted. But then Jeremy Maclin went and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs to be reunited with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid. When Eagles lost their one deep threat wide receiver in Maclin to free agency that made Frank Gore hesitant to sign with the Eagles. Gore felt like there would be more burden on him in the offense and the defense will focus more on him because they don't have a deep threat wide receiver. Gore told a friend that he was also concerned about the overbearing approach Chip Kelly has and that he heard the uptempo practices were issues for veterans who wanted to rest their body during the week. With Gore being a hard nosed running back throughout his career you can see where he saw the problem of not being able to rest during the week.

Frank Gore is now rumored to be signing with the Indianapolis Colts basically for the same amount of money he would of got with the Eagles. The deal is for 3 years worth 12 million dollars with 7.5 million dollars guaranteed. Gore feels more comfortable with the Colts because they do have a deep threat wide receiver in T.Y. Hilton which will not have the defense all eyes on Gore because they will have to pay attention to T.Y. as well. Also the quarterback situation with the Colts is much better then the Eagles Andrew Luck skill set is 20 times better then Nick Foles he runs circles around him. Plus the Colts could also be signing veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson so the Colts right now seem to more of championship contender then the Eagles. With Frank Gore being 31 going into his 10th season the only thing on his mind is winning a championship and the Colts are the best fit for him to accomplish that goal.

The Colts are getting a very good veteran running back in Frank Gore. Frank Gore has rushed for 11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns in the 9 seasons he's been playing in the NFL. This past season Gore has rushed for 1,106 yards and 4 touchdowns. Those numbers are pretty good for a veteran running back especially when he was in a pass dominant offense. Also the Colts are getting a veteran leader in their locker room that can mentor the younger running backs in the locker room such as Trent Richardson and Dan Herron.
