Andre Johnson Wants Out of Houston

Andre Johnson has spent his whole 12 year career playing for the Houston Texans. He has always been the focal point of the Houston Texans. Andre Johnson has told the Houston Texans on Monday that he wants to either get traded or released from the Houston . Andre was told by coach Bill O'Brien that he would have a reduced role next season. In my mind that doesn't make any sense considering how much a deep threat Andre Johnson has always been. Andre Johnson had 85 catches for 936 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.

Now those numbers may not sound too good but having Ryan Fitzpatrick as your quarterback those numbers are remarkable considering how inconsistent Ryan Fitzpatrick is. In his 12 years as a Houston Texans Andre Johnson has 1,012 receptions,13,597 receiving yards, and 64 touchdowns. Andre Johnson is the Houston Texans all-time leading receiver in yards, receptions, and touchdowns. The Houston Texans will be losing a great player that revamped their franchise and will be huge loss for them. It's clear Andre Johnson wants to play for a contender and it's clear Houston is not a contender. The Houston Texans has only made it to the playoffs twice in Andre Johnson 12 year career in Houston.

The Houston Texans will likely release Andre Johnson because no team probably wants to take on that costly contract. I'm sure Andre Johnson wouldn't want to restructure that deal unless that team he gets traded to is a legit contender. Andre is owed 10.5 million dollars in the 2015 season and 11 million dollars in 2016 before coming a free agent for the 2017 season. So most teams will wait for him to get released then go after him instead of taking on taking that costly contract. But if Houston Texans was smart they will wait until a team makes them an offer and get some draft picks or other players rather then let a star wide receiver like Andre Johnson walk for free and get nothing in return.
