Marshall to Jets

Brandon Marshall has been traded to New York Jets. There have been rumors that the Bears have been looking to trade Marshall before Tuesday. The new GM was intent upon making changes to the Bears organization Marshall was one of those changes he had interests from the Bills, Browns, and Colts. But the Jets are the team that made the best offer for Brandon Marshall. This move takes one of Jay Cutler favorite weapons from him. This could be a sign that Cutler is also on his way out of Chicago as well. Chicago Bears seems like they are going into rebuild mode if you ask me.

The Chicago Bears get a fifth round pick for this year's draft from the New York Jets in exchange for Brandon Marshall. Basically the Jets got Marshall for nothing basically a steal for them. The Chicago Bears save 7.5 million dollars in cap space for next season by trading Brandon Marshall. Maybe the Bears made that move to free up some cap to go after one of those big  name wide receiver free agents. The Bears have numerous of big name wide receivers to go after such as Randall Cobb, Jeremy Maclin, and Michael Crabtree. They could even go after Wes Welker or Andre Johnson if he gets released by Houston.

Brandon Marshall had 61 receptions for 721 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. He had career lows in receptions and receiving yards but that wasn't all his fault. We have to remember he missed 3 games due to a collapsed lung that happened in week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys. He was targeted only 23% per route he ran Cutler wasn't getting him the ball as much as he use too. I think if the Jets draft Marcus Mariota with the 6th pick in this years NFL draft the Jets can be a team to be reckoned with in the AFC. Mariota and Marshall will be a good one two punch. The Jets move to get Marshall pretty much shows they're ready to part ways with Percy Harvin. It will be very shocking if Harvin is on the Jets roster next season.
