DeMarco Murray to Visit The Eagles Today

With all the big named free agents being signed day 1 the only big name free agent still available is DeMarco Murray. The Dallas Cowboys have been disciplined in sticking to their plan and not overpaying for an injury prone running back. This past season is the first season where DeMarco Murray played a full season. The previous other 3 years he always was injured and sat out some games. DeMarco Murray wants 6 or more million dollars per year deal. The Cowboys offered him a 5 million per year deal which I think is very generous considering this past season was his first healthy season in his 4 year career in the NFL.

DeMarco Murray may have had a career year this past season where he had rushed for 1,825 yards and 13 touchdowns. But the main reason why DeMarco Murray had such a good year was because of that physical offensive line lead by Doug Free, Zach Martin, Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, and Ronald Leary. The Dallas Cowboys offensive line was the best offensive line in the NFL. The Eagles on the other hand have a suspect offensive line that is nowhere near as good as the Cowboys offensive line and never will be. Even as good as Murray is to make defenders miss in open field he still needs a decent offensive line to block defenders in order for him to have a hole to run through.

Honestly I think he is just visiting with the Eagles to make the Cowboys sweat and get them to offer him more money. But, I  believe Dallas will still stick to their starting price considering they're rumored to be looking for other free agent running backs out on the market. So it seems like the Cowboys are ready to move on without Murray. Some people thought the Cowboys should of franchised tag DeMarco Murray instead of Dez Bryant but running backs are a dime a dozen you can't replace Dez Bryant he is one of a kind. Besides the Cowboys can draft a running back like Todd Gurley or Melvin Gordon that can replace DeMarco Murray if they decide not to overpay for a running back in free agency.
